Well, it's been quite some time since I posted in the ol' Journal of Life...
July 28-The Three year Anniversary.
Well, what's there to say. This day marked the third year that I've been in a relationship with a wonderful gal named Marina. I never could have foreseen myself going this long so early in my life and at the same time, having such a great time doing so. Seriously, these past 3 years have been good times. This thing that we have...it's definitely gonna last for quite some time. And I'm glad it's going to. Couldn't be happier, she's fantastic.
So to celebrate, we road tripped with my padres up to Solvang, a little Danish town with some big ass pancakes. In the end, I had to finish Marina's food for her, but it's all good. We walked around to work off all the comida we just ate, and more good times were had. Then we headed a little south, and visited the UCSB campus. I gotta say, if I were given another chance to go to college, I very well might have chosen this one instead of UCLA. It's an awesome campus, but the best part was the weather. Not to hot, but not too cold either. There was a nice breeze at all times, and I mean, come on, the beach is like down the street (not to mention I'm sure it's not as polluted as Santa Monica.) So fun times were had there as well, then we were off again. We stopped in a town called Carpenteria where apparently my family owns a restaurant. Not really, but it was named Delgado's. Unfortunately, they didn't hook it up with the free meal. Bummer. So after gaining 20 lbs, we headed home to end an awesome day.
The New Job
So my Nina helped my financial troubles by offering me a job at her school, Greenwood Elementary. It's a pretty good job. Working with the little ones is quite different from the "know it all" middle schoolers. I dig. And I'm gonna dig my nice paycheck too.
The End Of Summer School
Well, my first ever summer school stint. And I came out alright. I was shittin' it about both classes, but in the end, I came out with just what I wanted. Not to mention, I'm on my way to graduating in 2 years as planned. Sweet broseph.
August 4th-Danny's 21st Birthday Experience
What an awesome night. So it was my good buddy (and former Angel teammate) Danny's 21st bash, and man, did we bash. Great food, great people, and great sing-alongs. Lenny and Danny were definitely the stars of the night though. But it was great seeing everyone I haven't seen in quite some time, all together in one place. Good times.
August 7-Beachness
So at Danny's Party, Rob invited me to go to the beach with his crew. Good times ensued. Caught a massive wave boogie boarding, and handled the volleyball court like nobody's business. The beach was the perfect remedy for a long day of work and driving. Left a little early due to sore legs and chilly weather, but stopped by Norm's on the way back. Handled some pasta and salad with the misses, then it was time to get home. This is when my leg's felt like they were gonna die on me. I think it might have been the volleyball, running around in the sand. But they were pretty much gonna collapse under me. It was probably the weirdest feeling ever. But it's all good, I got some rest and now I'm quite alright.
August 8-Todai!
Today...work as usual. Then I helped Allen out with recording our buddies in Hideo. This was quite an experience. I was handling the guitar and bass duties. I got some sweet tone out of those amps bro. I had never recorded anyone but myself before, so this was a first for me. It was very exciting actually, although I was unfamiliar with Allen's program, so it took some getting used to. Turns out though, we are gonna have to start over due to the drums being a little off beat in places. The good thing: we will actually be compensated for our time this time around. Righteous! Afterwords, visited Alberto, then came home here and been chillin' ever since. Word.
The weeks ahead are looking pretty damn good. More work, lots of free time for some projects I'd like to finish, and lots (and lots) of good music ahead! The new Minus the Bear album is coming, as are 3 (maybe 4!) RxB shows! This is gonna be a good month.
Marina is awesome. The End.
