My Bedroom

Where I sleep. This is a loft in a building across the yard and completely separate from the rest of the house.
Loft Bedroom Looking Down

And do you see how much light and breeze I get on a daily basis? It´s the coziest bedroom ever.
Bedroom Window Looking Into Yard

Here you can see the yard and the rest of the house.
Mi casa

Here is the rest of the house. Kitchen window on the left, bedroom window on the right.
Tree

A friendly tree that lives outside my bedroom window.
Front Porch

From the first floor of the main house, standing at the screen door. Directly in front is the childrens´ playhouse.
Friendly Tree

From the ground. The sliding doors lead up to my loft bedroom.
My Street

This is the calle Alameda in Guadalajara, Mexico. My neighborhood, my street.
Mi casa

My house from the front. Note how it´s squished between the others.
Kitchen

Second Floor Kitchen. The window overlooks the yard.
A Church

This might be the Parroquìa Jesùs where I chill every morning before orphanage teaching. And no, I don´t know why the accents come out backward on this keyboard.
Snack Store

There are about a million of these on every street. This photo marks the beginning of my bravery with photography-- notice I`m hiding behind the iron bars of the Parroquìa Jesùs.
el Centro Històrico

From the second floor balcony of La Antigua resteraunt. This is downtown Guadalajara. Notice the underground shopping center.
A Very Nice Building

I haven`t learned about this one yet, but it´s ginormous and I think built in the 1600s.

Random Street

Typical Guadalajara.
Mariachi Dancers

At the resteraunt in Tlaquepaque, where people go to buy expensive crafts. Mariachi was born here in Guadalajara. They dance every day here. Gabi says she did this for 6 years.
Mariachi Band

Mariachi is a unique blend of violins and brass instruments. It`s pretty sweet.
Pool Hall

Me sucking at pool.
Gabi and Jada

It´s called billar here. You know, like billiard. The pool stick is called a taco. Jada is from North Carolina and Gabi is my host auntie.
Waterfall

At the Guadalajara Zoo.
Guadalajara, from Guadalajara

You can see this at the edge of Guadalajara Zoo. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. Or something?
Landscape

Mountains.
Giraffes

They stroll through my back yard occasionally, grazing on the local plant life. They are frequently killed by the traffic. I don`t mind the giraffes, but the tigers make me a little nervous.*

*Joking. Guadalajara Zoo.
More City

Another mountain shot of the city.
More Waterfall

The lizard and crocodile area of the Guadalajara zoo.
The Girls

My favorite photo. Gabi and my host sisters Jimena (age 2) and Jamilla (age 4) as we´re riding in a horsedrawn carriage in downtown Guadalajara.
