The Podcasting World Untouched

I don't know if any of you know what podcasting is, sort of like a radio show that you download weekly or whenever it updates onto your iPod. For a definition that isn't full of bull, lookie here.So I was strolling along the depths of the iTunes store today, seeing if there are any Doctor Who podcasts. There are plenty, namely the Doctor Who ( Read more... )

Have you ever made a podcast? As in been involved in one? I am part of a podcast for Farscape called the Scapecast. We've won *the* podcast award (the Parsec Awards) last year for best fan podcast. Our competitors were The Signal (a Firefly podcast) and PotterCast (*the* Harry Potter podcast). Anyways, to get to the point, if you want to get an idea in what is involved in making a podcast, drop me a line. My email is in the profile. I don't really want to spam this post. If you want to put out something nice, it's *not* done with recording something on Skype and just putting it online. We put out our episodes every other Friday, and as one of the editors for this podcast, I put a lot of my free time into producing a finished podcast.

Well, I am not sure how much of help I could be other than on the consulting side because like I said, I am one of the editors for the Scapecast (there's only two of us) and since we alternate in editing episodes, I put a lot of hours into editing that podcast already. Besides, I'd also like to have some free time to do my video editing :D

I understand what you mean. My husband listens to Podshoack and the DWO Whocast regularly, and I'm rolling my eyes at least once an episode because one of the old-skool fans has said something to show he's in total denial about how "Doctor Who" has evolved from yesteryear into a character-driven show.

A Doctor/Rose podcast would be a wonderful idea, I'd like to help, although I haven't a clue what making a podcast involves. I'm listening to my first podcast right now *headdesk*

But sign me up!

I'm just here to cheer you on! That is a FABULOUS idea! And it makes me all gooey to think that there are new and exciting things like this cropping up all the time - in fact, they all started cropping up a good year after DD - OSK, ficathons, challenges, newsletters, chats, rec comms, icon comms, group meet-ups - and now podcasts. Whoo hoo! I love D/R shippers - and I doubt anybody else is having this much fun ;)
