One of my Japanese friends says it is more like "I could get married if I wanted to". Something said defensively. But honestly, it's a really difficult phrase, and he was having a hard time putting it in English.

I'm looking forward to April! It's always easier for me to watch doramas in the Spring, so I'm very glad this one is airing then.

Take a look at it again:

「結婚できないんじゃなくて、しないんです」

Dekinai (できない) means I can´t, not I could, that would be dekita (できた). And then this word would cause a double negation.

I'm only repeating what a Japanese said. I'm interested in all other translations, too, since the double negative is difficult for me to re-express in English.

I'd translate it as "It's not like I can't get married, but I won't."
(Or "I could get married if I wanted to, but I won't", to rephrase it in a more simple way.)
