Hey guys!
I just found this "gem" of an article and thought you'd want to read and...rage.

some men are expressing concern over whether women should be insulted by a plot dominated by a man who tells a woman when to sleep, eat, work out and even how to groom herself
I guess I'm a man now because that is what I am thinkingXD
THANKS TO THE SANE MEN OUT THERE WHO THINK LIKE THAT!
Rachel Kramer Bussel, a former sex columnist and the editor of the Best Bondage Erotica 2012, explained to us that enjoying the fantasy of a dominant sexual relationship does not mean that a woman wants to be dominated by men in all aspects of her life.
“There's nothing wrong with a man being dominant and it doesn’t mean he's misogynist, any more than a woman wanting to be submissive in the bedroom means she wants to be submissive outside the bedroom."She doesn't see that statement doesn't work with the book at all where the submissive woman is dominated EVERYWHERE right ( ... )

Not all because even though men might want to be the dominant partners I highly doubt there are many creeps out there who want to control their partner as much as Chrisward does. At least I hope so!

Ugh, seriously, I am so disappointed in humanity. I wonder if people don't realise the severity of what is wrong with the things going on there because they simply don't know anything about BDSM and D/s and don't even bother to research it. Not saying that we know much more about it, but I feel oddly ~educated~ just by having read lots and lots of quality fic. Ugh. I can't. I'd understand all this if Ana wanted it but she's so ignorant of everything and he ( ... )

I think there's this confusion? lumping together? of female sexual power and shitty controlling sex/relationships which is kind of scary. Idk, I just have all the confused feelings.
A reviewer on the feminist-friendly website Jezebel wrote: “Our consensus: the book is pretty ridiculous - for every lashing there's an ‘OMG!’ - but if it's making more women feel comfortable discussing their sexuality, we're all for it.”SEE I AM SCARED BY THIS. I think it's all fine and dandy for women to finally~ open up about sexuality and for men to stfd about it, but through this book? Really? I mean, just because it's erotica that is being enjoyed by SOME women and inspiring open discussions on sex by many does not make it okay to not criticise the kind of obvious crappy manipulative and dangerous relationship portrayed in the book ( ... )
