New House

I took a ton of "before" pictures, so I think what I'll do is just post a few at a time....probably one room at a time, or one exterior view, with descriptions of what my plans are for that area. I fully realize this will likely be WAY too much info for most of you, so feel free to skip the cuts, but I'll probably be spending a good bit of the ( Read more... )

It looks like you have your work cut out for you indeed. Me, personally, would get rid of the two big evergreens as they are completely hiding the house. It looks like it has potential though. Good luck and I will be watching the progress with keen interest. Oh, and I promise never to tell you that you missed a spot ~grins~

Yeah, the one in the front there is definitely coming down, but I like the one on the side. It's the driveway side, and the thicker branches are mostly above the roof line anyway, and it's kind of a unique tree for this area, so that's probably staying. I hope you'll be watching with patience, cuz I work slooooow...lol.

Goodness, look at the color of that paint...

What year was the house built? Based on the condition it appears to be in, I'm not surprised that you're having to rip all the walls out.

I love that you have giant trees, hopefully you won't lose them all.

The house was built in 1899, and the property stayed in the same family for 105 years. I am the first non-family owner since the house was built by the great-great grandfather of the group of brothers and sisters who sold it to me. As you'll see in photos to come, there are many large trees on the property, and though some are damaged and/or too close to the house to stay, most of them will remain.

Here's a suggestion.

Try not to drop the soap in your facility.

Oh, I think he should drop the soap right next to the broom handle.
