Took a few days off from the house stuff, but here are the final exterior shots before you start to get to see the inside.
East side of the house, standing in front of the garage. The Japanese maple I mentioned is behind me, on the east side of the garage. The addition I mentioned will wrap around the rear corner of the house there, filling out that 6 foot inset that makes the kitchen at the back of the house so small.
Even though this looks like a complete piece of shit, it's actually one of my favorite things about this property. It's a concrete block building, about 70 feet wide by 25 feet deep. It used to be three two-car garage bays, roof is totally dilapidated, doors are shot, but the foundation and block are still in perfect shape. Each bay is roughly 25 x 25 feet, or 625 square feet. This building will get full utilities, new roof, be insulated, sided, etc to match the house, and then each bay will be finished inside for a different use. Right most bay will be my home office. I work from home, but actually working IN the house when the kids are home can be an issue sometimes. This will be an awesome solution so I can still work at "home", but have some separation. It will also be 3 times the size of my current office. Middle bay will be a one room guest apartment. Small living room with pull out sofa, full bath, small kitchenette. Again, cool solution for overnight guests - separation from the main house for peace and privacy, yet still close. Left most bay - the one that is is completely impossible to see into from anywhere off the property...hehe....will be 625 feet of "play" space, hopefully well stocked with
studio3dom's dungeon furniture. "In the outbuilding, no one can hear you scream" *g*
Anyway, that's it for outside. Starting to see what a moron I am for taking all this on?? lol. Donations to raise the estimated $80,000 or so it's gonna take to do all this gladly accepted!!
