This was really well-written, Alex. I remember following along while all of this stuff was happening in real time in your life--but revisiting it does reveal so many new insights.

Thanks so much :) I was debating fictionalizing some of it in my musings about returning to Idol but I think being as brutally honest as possible is going to be the best way for me to get what I want out of this experience. It's so helpful having my physical journal from that time, as well, to help me get back to that mindset.

this is kind of painful to read, knowing it signaled the beginning of the end of the relationship, but it's really well-written. (also the pics are lovely!)
Yes, although I thought it was just one of many conversations we might have over the next few years. It's always interesting to go back and look at moments in your life that you didn't realize were significant and then recognize them as significant turning points.
