2011. A new year. This is supposed to be in someway significant? I have never marked the passing of years before and I do not intend to start now.

I will say this. 2011 will not be a good time [insert unit of measurement here; I prefer painful eternity or sudden stop] for my father, or for his Titan allies.

long live the king

Really, I'm pretty damn sure it's just another excuse to get completely and utterly drunk off your ass, stand around in the freezing cold for hours on end, and ultimately grab the person nearest to you in order to stick your tongue down their throat - you know, as tradition fucking dictates.

But vowing revenge totally fucking works too.

But who needs such an excuse, Zelos? They don't even pretend to honour any gods in this tradition of theirs.

Vowing revenge, at least, is a family tradition I rather enjoy.

It's the chosen date for people to spend quality time celebrating the fact that they've survived alcohol poisoning and loose women with venereal diseases for another year - while getting alcohol poisoning and sleeping with loose women that may or may not have venereal diseases. I don't ask the mortals why, I just partake in their fucking booze.

Definitely festive and family-friendly, Bossman.

How noble of you, child, and delightfully opportunistic. Drinking to survival is quite admirable, I suppose.

I intend to commence some manner of campaign against my father and his allies. I can trust you to contribute?

The New Years parties are what make it! I wouldn't even care about it if it weren't for those.

I suppose that is a valid think to enjoy but I would have thought, my Muse, that you wouldn't be confined by simple dates.

You would think, right? But these mortals always have the best parties on certain days for some reason.

Then I challenge you to make their parties even better on some random day of the year. I know you are capable of it.

You have a plan, Father? Or is that just a promise?

I have some ideas, Athena, but it is a promise, too. No king ever likes his rule being undermined and that is just what I intend to do to our oppressors.

Very good. Let me know when you have need of me.

It means you can burn things! At least it's legal in some countries.

Sweetheartdarlingchildmuseofmine.

I am happy for you to burn whatever you so choose, so long as it does not inconvenience me.

Ah, you just said that to every other muse that jumps at you~

I think it's arson on NY, so let's try to stay out of jail for now.

How have you been?

I do but I assure you that I mean it every time.

I have been irritated, at best. I do not like this place or, rather, I do not like this incarnation. God made flesh does not appeal.

It may not matter to you, but to a mortal who has a limited number of years it matters a great deal. They are very attached to their years.

oheyzeus January 3 2011, 23:33:39 UTC
They are and always have been but it is quite tedious, this insistence that the passage of time means anything.

It does when you are dying.

Dying suggests change. That is, surely, a different measurement entirely.
