I'm gonna umm, go out on a limb here and say that I didn't think the Pyramids of Giza or the Sphinx was all that great.  It felt sorta anti-climactic seeing them.  I was far more impressed with all the temples we saw later in the week and was amazed at how much more the next one topped the last.  In any case, it was still great seeing the Pyramids ( Read more... )

Man, you're good at being a tourist. I have trouble relaxing in that kind of situation, and not knowing the local language drives me crazy.

Haha, thanks! Although the language wasn't as much of a barrier as we thought it would be. Most people we dealt with spoke English and enough Chinese, German, and Spanish to get by. It was pretty impressive to hear the vendors trying to lure you into their store and then switch to Mandarin when the next customer came over.
