Carriage House Room 1: Friday Night into Saturday [5-10-08]

May 10, 2008 21:33

Millie drew cats all day Friday.

When she had filled the walls with pictures of every kind of cat she could imagine, she was very tired. She started to lie down on her bed, but just then she heard an odd voice, not unlike that of Asheth. "Avoid large places, keep to small," it said.

Millie thought for a moment, then took her pillow and a blanket and climbed into her closet with Proudfoot. She shut the closet door and was soon fast asleep. In the middle of the night, she heard a loud noise like fighting. There was yowling and running and thumping and bumping and growling. She peeked out of her closet, but it was too dark. She couldn't see anything and she felt so oddly frightened that she just closed the closet door and stayed inside.

In the morning Millie opened the closet and peeked out into her room. There on the floor was an evil goblin rat, lying dead on the bedroom floor. Who could have killed it? Millie looked around the room. Each cat that she had drawn had a little circle of red around its mouth. Then Millie knew that her cats had attacked and killed the goblin rat. And she now understood what the voice had meant when it said, "Avoid large places, keep to small."

She quickly magicked the mess out of the room, hoping the noise and mess hadn't bothered her roommate and snuggled Proudfoot close. This had been an incredibly strange week. Imagine the surprise she'd find Sunday morning when she woke to find all the cats that she had drawn had mysteriously disappeared.
