I don't know about Oedipus complex but I definitely inherited my father's super-ego and it took me a long time to identify it, separate it from my own, and to be my own man. My father's shortcomings have turned out to be my greatest gifts. What happens to parents when they lose sight of the importance of love and overcompensate with a sense of duty?
