Note : Day 17! Hello from the Philippines! :D
Aiba’s always been protective of Nino.
Everyone knows this - he’s been Nino’s best friend ever since, well, ever, and their friendship managed to overcome Nino’s many (failed) relationships, despite the fact that most of his past girlfriends (and boyfriends) didn’t like the idea of having to share Nino’s affection with someone else.
Almost three decades of friendship still isn’t long enough for him to leave Nino alone, apparently, and that’s that.
Nino didn’t confirm it, when he and Ohno got together for real, but Aiba realized it just the same. In all the years he’s known Nino, Nino’s always been in love with Ohno, something Nino's too embarrassed to admit himself even though it was actually rather obvious.
“He hates feeling like he’s being smothered,” he remembers telling Ohno the night they all stayed over at Jun’s place, the same night Nino got drunk and ended up telling everyone he and Ohno are dating. “or when he’s actually being smothered. Also, if he doesn’t feel like talking, he won’t, but I guess you already -“
“Know that, yes,” he remembers Ohno saying, nodding his head in agreement, his lips curling into a would-be smile. Aiba remembers looking Ohno over, checking for any signs that would tell him their Leader is not at all serious about Nino like the over-protective creep that he is.
He remembers Ohno reaching over to pat his shoulder knowingly, remembers Ohno mumbling something that sounded suspiciously like, “I love your best friend so much, Aiba-chan, so don’t worry, okay? I’m going to take good care of him, I promise.”
Aiba remembers saying nothing, remembers bumping his fist against Ohno’s in quiet agreement as he watched Nino fondly, face pressed against Ohno’s chest, breathing lightly in his sleep.

“I need someone to practice my lines with,” he whines, pushing his face against Nino’s sleeves.
Nino barely twitches. They are in the green room, waiting to be called for their VS shoot. Ohno is somewhere on Nino’s right, snoozing.
“Nino-chaaannnnn~” he singsongs, acting like a terrible nuisance despite the fact that Nino’s obviously ignoring him. “Come on, stop playing. I need to memorize this before -“
“Then go and practice with Jun, you dummy,” Nino whines, half-hearted at best because they both know there’s no one who would rather practice with him but Nino. Nino pulls away as if on cue, but slowly, obviously so he won’t end up waking Ohno up.
Aiba watches Nino’s other free hand travels from the side of Ohno’s arm to the base of Ohno’s head, cradling it, as Nino puts his DS down.
“You know I can’t,” he says, puffing his cheeks the way Ohno did so many times, simply because he knows it always works. “so, please?”
Nino heaves a sigh, and Aiba takes that as his cue to smile. He leans over and drops a sound kiss to Nino’s cheek despite Nino’s disgusted whines, barely aware of Ohno whining in his sleep in answer.

He knows the remaining blocks are going to fall - he’s known it since Jun made the call - and he is immediately reaching out to grab Nino, vaguely seeing Ohno making a run from the opposite direction towards them. Nino shouts, more from shock than fear as half a dozen staffs stumble over to cover them.
“Are you okay? Are you okay?” he mutters into Nino’s hair, eyes catching Ohno’s who stands frozen halfway, two staffs crowding him, stopping him from further moving. “Nino, are you okay?”
Nino’s answering chuckles is a welcomed relief; he raises his hand and subtly gestures Ohno that Nino’s okay, smiling when Nino grunts and tells him to stop treating him like an incompetent child.
Aiba grins and squeezes Nino one last time. “I love you too, you ungrateful jerk,” he says, but not without so much fondness.

Jun is more than a little pissed and for once, Aiba wants to be pissed too. Nino looks like he’s not even the slightest bit worried about what he did, Ohno too, and Aiba thinks it’s quite surprising that for once, he doesn’t feel like indulging these two idiots.
Sho, on the other hand, is acting like he’s barely keeping himself from outright stepping forward and embracing the shit out of the two.
“Do you know what this could do to you? To us, if this gets out?” Jun starts, barely able to string the words together knowing how pissed he is. Aiba nods his head and keep his gaze on Nino’s face. “Do you?” Jun repeats.
Ohno’s expression remains passive despite the fact that he has Nino’s hands cradled in between his own.
“Leader?” Jun prompts, directing his gaze on Ohno this time around.
“I’ll take full responsibility,” Ohno says, confident; Aiba wants to roll his eyes at Nino’s answering blush but holds himself and instead waits for Ohno’s following statement. “if anything happens -which I honestly doubt will be the case, I swear to you this isn’t going to break us.”
“You’re so confident that it’s scaring the fuck out of me,” Jun returns, “I mean, how are you so sure this isn’t going to cost us everything we’ve worked hard to achieve all these years? Did you somehow managed to marry each other-“
“Using someone else’s names, so you don’t really have to worry about it so much,” Ohno cuts in. Aiba finds himself at a loss while Jun looks like he is about to suffer a heart attack.
“Congratulations, Satoshi-kun, Nino!” Sho shouts, shoving him and Jun aside and taking Ohno and Nino in his arms, shaking them happily.
Aiba catches Nino’s eyes over Sho’s sloppy shoulder and sighs, shaking his head at Nino when Nino mouths, I love you, Aiba-shii.
