Summary:Ohno Satoshi, the computer illiterate young man who lives in the 22nd century full of androids everywhere?! What will happen when this young man meets one android that was meant to be thrown away?
A/N:The plot will go exactly like the manga, but there will be some changes cause this is my story. I don't plan on making chobits seem weird. Just decided to share because it was my first manga that I came to love. If you don't wanna read this, then don't.
Fanfic Masterpost Nino slumped his body forward and stared at his hands. “Satoshi’s special person… Satoshi’s… Is Nino the person just for Satoshi?”
“I don’t know,” a voice said from above. When Nino looked up, he saw his sister, flying towards him with her arms wide open. “But if that person isn’t Nino, if the same thing happens as before… then you know what we must do.”
“Something… I must do…” Nino mumbled as he stared off into a far distance.
Yamada raised an eyebrow at the persocom. For a second, Nino was calm, smiling, and clueless. Then the next second, the persocom started acting weird, such as talking to himself. Something about him was just… off, but Yamada didn’t know what it was.

“I don’t know where to begin looking, but I’m not going to let that stop me from finding him,” Ohno told Jun, determined that he’ll do what it takes to find Nino. He just hoped that nothing bad happened to Nino and that somehow, he’d find him by tonight as well. But if not tonight… No, he had to find him, no matter what.
“Wherever Nino is right now, I’m sure that he’s waiting for you,” Jun smiled slightly and patted Ohno on the back to reassure him. He, too, hoped that they’d be able to find Nino before the day ends.
Just as Ohno was about to say something, however, he heard the bushes behind him move and he stood up right away. He knew someone was watching them, but he hadn’t known how long.
“Satoshi?!” Jun exclaimed when he saw the younger stand up abruptly and ran where they had come from.
“It might be that guy who took Nino!” Ohno suggested and ran after the stalker. He finally caught up with the stalker, but he was surprised when he saw who it was. He grabbed her wrist and she turned around as tears fell streamed down her rosy cheeks. “Mao?!”
“Are you alright, Satoshi?!” Jun asked when he finally caught up with Ohno, but he took a step back when he saw the person that Ohno had caught. “Mao…”
Inoue blinked and slightly turned her head to face Jun. She hiccuped and turned away, the tears falling faster as she blinked the tears away.
Ohno released her wrist in surprise as he glanced at the both of them. “What?! You two know each other?!”
But neither answered for a minute and Ohno wanted to say something to make light of the awkward and depressing silence. Instead, Inoue pulled her wrist from the distracted Ohno and ran away from the two men. Ohno called out for her, but Jun shook his head and frowned. “She won’t come back here.”
“Why is that?”
“Because just being near me makes her sad.”

It had been a few days since Nino went missing and since Okamoto had last seen a distressed Ohno. Although he was unable to find Nino, the least he could do was find out possible suspects through the custom BBS. It’s almost been a week when finally, Mirei had notified him that an email was sent.
“Okamoto, sir, this is…” Mirei gasped as she read the contents of the email through her eyes, and sent it to Okamoto’s screen to which she was attached to.
“It’s the access log of the custom persocom site where I first posted about Nino. Now I can see all of the users who accessed the board,” Okamoto explained as he scanned through the email.
“I’m surprised they sent this to you. I though such records were confidential.”
Okamoto smirked. “I guess you could say they owed me a favor… Their site was hit hard by a virus not long ago, and I got them running again.”
Mirei nodded, remembering the anti-virus Okamoto spent long hard nights working on. Back then, she had insisted that he take a break, because he needed it and the fact that he had to have energy for school. But Okamoto refused to and said that he’ll be fine. However, when she checked on him sometimes, she saw that he was fast asleep on his chair and she carried him to his room with a soft smile. No matter how much of a genius her master is, he was still a child.
“First, we need to find out who access my posting about Nino. Then, we’ll have to cross reference them one by one. Let’s start with their IP addresses…” It was silent as Okamoto worked on his own screen, while Mirei worked through her brain. It wasn’t until moments later, Okamoto sighed. “Nino’s disappearance is possibly due to my careless post to the web, so I have to do everything in my power to find him.”
“I’m very sorry,” Mirei frowned as she watched Okamoto move one screen to the next. “You feel sad because I brought up something I shouldn’t have.”
“That’s not true,” Okamoto remarked. “If you hadn’t reminded me about that posting, we wouldn’t have any clues to finding Nino. You’ve opened up a lot of possibilities, so there’s nothing to apologize for. But thank you. It made me happy… really.”
“I wonder if your sister would have done the same thing,” Mirei said.
“I think so… it felt good to have her watching over me, pointing out things that I’d forgotten and correcting me when I did wrong. Very good. But…” He paused and lowered his head down. “I’m not really happy because it’s what my sister would have done.”
“Okamoto, sir?” She was about to comfort him when she saw the sad expression on his face, but there was a loud ping. “Y-you have mail. It’s from the same address that sent you the image files of Nino.”
Okamoto gasped in surprise. He hadn’t, for the life of him, been able to find who had sent him those images of Nino, and that same person hadn’t contacted him for almost a month. Until today, he’s almost forgotten about that person. “Send it to me, quickly.”

Ohno had long since departed with Jun, who said he had to go home right away because he had to open up early tomorrow. But it was obvious to Ohno that Jun only excused himself after seeing Inoue, and that he didn’t want to say anything about their relationship. Still, it surprised him, although he’s heard of the term “it’s a small world.”
Looking back, Inoue hadn’t said anything about it when he had told her that Nino was working there. No, wait… now that I think about it, she did act kind of strange, he thought as he remembered how her smile disappeared and she ran away with a frown on her face. And earlier, she was crying when Ohno took hold of her and how Jun had said that being near him makes her sad. Did something horrible happen to them in the past?...
No, now was not the time to dwell his thoughts of the both of them. He had to find Nino.
He turned to his right, realizing that he was walking past the bookstore and saw the display of new books. Right in the middle of the display was the same book he had read the same day Nino had disappeared. He picked the latest volume up and wondered who in the hell wrote them after giving it a thought that it was about him and Nino.
”If that person takes the time to find what makes me different from the others… If he likes me because I’m me…” The lighter bunny trailed off as it stared at the darker bunny.
“If that happens, we may be able to become something different from before,” the darker bunny says.
“Then I may not have to lose what’s more important to me like last time…” the lighter bunny said as it stepped over the darker bunny so they were each other’s reflections. “What’s more important to them and to people is something precious… something you can’t lose. The proof that I am who I am, the special proof. That proof will tell me my someone is. That special “someone just for me.” “
Ohno paid attention to how the book stressed on the word “them” and concluded that it was talking about persocoms. But it confused him when the bunny said something of importance for both persocoms and people. What could it possibly mean?

Yamada watched in curiosity as Nino clutched his heart and was dazing off into a far distance. There was definitely something off about the persocom he didn’t know what, but it was getting to him somehow. Somewhere, in the back of his mind he could hear a faint tiny voice, but he couldn’t make out what it was saying. But he knew that it started the moment the persocom started acting strange. Just as he was about to poke him, however, the door swung open and his master walked in with wires wrung around his arm. All of a sudden, the voice disappeared and Nino was blinking clueless as he watched Yoshihiko approach them.
“I’m back!” Yoshihiko sang happily as he approached Nino. “Why don’t we start?”
Nino snapped from his trance and cocked his head to the side. “What are we starting?”
“Research, my dear,” Yoshihiko smirked and stroked Nino’s chin. “Research… on you. I want to find out everything about you.”

“I’m ho-- Whoa!” Ohno exclaimed as soon as he saw Chinen flying towards him with his arms open wide. Like what Nino had done, Chinen hung from the lamp on the ceiling and decided to surprise Ohno as well.
“Welcome back!” Chinen yelled happily, a huge grin on his face and landed on Ohno’s face. “You have a voicemail waiting for you! Would you like me to play the message?”
“Y-yes please,” Ohno insisted as he sat Chinen on his palm.
“First message!... It’s Keito. I just received a new e-mail from the person who sent the other images. I forwarded it to plum, so take a look when you have a chance. Unlike the first two, I don’t understand the meaning of this image. Perhaps you’ll see something in it. Also, I’m continuing to search for Nino. I’ll contact you as soon as I find anything… End of message!”
Once the massage was done replaying, he ran to his TV right away and Chinen had happily hooked himself to the TV. After Ohno turned on the TV, they had to wait for the message to display itself on the screen. “It better not be a picture of Nino being tortured!” He hoped as he watched the screen anxiously. However, when Chinen had opened the e-mail, instead Ohno saw something he couldn’t understand. It was black, but there were white lines that were connected to each other and then a black dot in the middle of whatever the image was. He had no idea what it was, but he was glad that it wasn’t a photo of Nino in a bad situation.

“There,” Yoshihiko grinned as he sat back and looked at Nino’s ears. There were many wires coming out from both ears, but he was sure it was enough to give him plenty of useful information. “Now you’re connected to all the computers in the house. They look cute, like ribbons. The cords, I mean.”
“Cute?”
“Really cute,” Yoshihiko grinned.
Nino frowned. Ohno had called him cute before, but hearing it from someone else made him feel sad. He missed Ohno and he wanted to see him again. On the other hand, Yamada noticed the sad look on Nino’s face. As much as he looked down on Nino, for some reason seeing his facial expression like that made him feel… sad and worried for the persocom.
“There was nothing special about your connection terminals,” Yoshihiko hummed in thought as he touched the wires coming from connected to Nino’s ears. “Maybe, it’s what’s inside that makes you special?” He moved his hands lower down until he was touching Nino’s thighs and eyed the lower part of his body.
“Is Nino… special?” Nino asked Yoshihiko, his face unchanging.
“That would make me happy. Now, show me everything you’ve got!”
As soon as Yoshihiko had said those words, Nino gasped and abruptly got on his feet, startling Yamada and Yoshihiko.
