Fanfic Masterpost ++++++++++
A brown fur ball zoomed past the Chiba streets and through people’s legs. His energy never ended until he needed to take a break, and stick his tongue out catching up for air. The world in his eyes were gray, black, and white, not caring about the colors, but the very image spread out before his eyes. He would stop by at playgrounds and small humans ran towards him all saying how cute, and small he was. Before he can speak, he was shooed by taller humans and looked at him with disgust. The fur ball pouted, and then ran again to nowhere, but somewhere. All he just wanted was a home and someone to love him again.

A day before Christmas Eve and the Christmas Party, Ohno Satoshi, for the 5th time, bought 2 suit ties and a new game for the Nintendo 3DS for his friends. By the end of the day, he only spent about 50,000 yen all together--plus a coffee from star bucks. It was the exact same amount he had spent since the last 5 Christmases and the presents never changed. He didn’t mean to be such a miser every year, but his friends didn’t seem to mind as he sees them using his presents while he was around. With his coffee in his hand, and the shopping bags in the other, Ohno decided to pay a visit to one of his friends after putting the presents away.
During the holidays, the only person that wasn’t so busy was his friend Ninomiya Kazunari. The man wasn’t nice at all since he throws rude comments all the time, and tends to brag. However, that didn’t stop Ohno from being friends with him since he saw him differently, and the two became friends since the latter accepted it. He even allowed Ohno to call him “Nino.” And every year on the Holidays, since the past 5 years they met, Nino’s present never changed. He would pop out from under the Christmas tree and say he’s the present himself since it would be “selfish” to spend his money on them; that didn’t seem fair to him.
“So,” Ohno plops down on Nino’s white couch in his apartment. “What do you plan on bringing to the Christmas Party?”
“I don’t know,” Nino replies while rapidly tapping buttons on his 3DS. “Why did those two idiots even suggest we have it at Chiba? Sho’s place would have been fine. Now I have to drive us both there and waste money on gas…”
Sakurai Sho was Ohno’s other friend. Nino met him before Ohno did and Nino introduced him to Ohno. Despite the said man’s educational background, and ethical-like actions, he was friends with low paid artists like Ohno and Nino. The man did well on his own, but he could fail so much at many things except for being smart. Even the man had unattractive sloping shoulders and a recent hobby of lighting up candles during work. Maybe Ohno would buy a candle for him this year… However, there was something that Ohno felt different when he was around Sho all the time, and it was very awkward to be alone with him.
“At least bring something,” Ohno plays with the key chains on Nino’s cell phone.
“I will,” Nino snaps, “because I know that Jun will kick me out.”
The last person in Ohno’s friend list, Matsumoto Jun, was someone that was least to be messed with. He had a high temper, and tends to yell at other people. Because of the man’s high temper, Ohno met him in a strange situation and the two started contacting each other, and then eventually became friends. Nevertheless, Jun was someone that had amazingly good looks and thick eyebrows that he can be mistaken for an idol. Lately, Ohno’s suspicions were growing higher the more he spots Jun and Nino alone together, too comfortable with each other. It was true that Jun and Nino disliked each other when they first met, and when they made eye contact, there was this invisible static from Nino’s eyes to Jun’s eyes as if they were fighting mentally.
“Speak of the devil,” Nino shuts his 3DS closed and grabs his vibrating cell phone from Ohno. “Jun is calling.”
“What?” Nino almost screams through the speaker. “I was in the middle of killing a boss! This better be important.”
Ohno watched his friend pace across the small living room as he shuts Nino’s 3DS open and closed. He received a glare, that was meant to scare him, from the latter and his hand was slapped away instantly.
“Uh huh,” Nino nodded his head, his gaze never leaving his 3DS. “And you’re telling me this because?…”
Ohno continued to watch his friend when Nino halted to a stop, shook his head, then mumbled something that he made sure Jun didn’t hear.
“All right, we’ll be there soon,” Nino closed his phone and thumped Ohno lightly on the forehead. “Jun wants us there pronto. And that’s for touching my 3DS without my permission.”
“Ok,” Ohno replies and massages his forehead. “Can we stop by my house first? I need to put our Christmas gifts together.”

The brown fur ball loved the white substance falling from the sky as he stuck his tongue out and felt it melt on his tongue. He loved how every small human came out and played, throwing balls of these white substances at each other while hearing their laughter ringing in his ears. The music that the small humans and taller humans produced all together, while standing on doorsteps and ringing a high pitched bell on welcome mats made him jump up along with the music. He loved how there was a big and huge human all dressed in red patted him on the head while passing by a huge tree with stuff on it. But the brown fur ball, every night, slept in the nooks and crannies of Chiba, wishing that someone came to love him again.

After begging Nino to stop peeking at the presents and finally getting clothes packed in luggages, the two headed off to a small town in Chiba.
While Ohno liked the idea of having the party somewhere new, Nino just kept mumbling about “how stupid it was” or “Sho just hated cleaning” while driving. Ohno saw nothing wrong in Sho’s idea as he sat calmly on his passenger seat looking out the windows.
By the time they entered Chiba, there was even more snow and Nino was mumbling even louder while throwing in a few cuss words. Ohno decided to ignore this as he smiles, pressing his face against the cold window and thinking that this year will be better. He even felt how something will happen and things will go smoothly as planned. Just feeling that luck made Ohno grin, his teeth flashing white and Nino looking back and forth and back at him and the road, grimacing at Ohno’s expression.
“We’re here,” Nino grumbled as Ohno felt the car’s engine turn off. “Jun and Sho might be in this hotel…”
Ohno spaced out after Nino was talking about the situation and whey they had to some early as a brown dog bumped onto his leg. The dog startled him, but he felt the urge to reach out and hug the small thing.
Nino tugged at Ohno’s blue coat. “Hey, are you even listening to a word I was saying?”
“…”
“I didn’t think so,” Nino rolls his eyes. “Now let’s go in and catch up with the others.”
Ohno continued staring at the dog who was staring back at him with huge puppy eyes while Nino pulled him away. For the first time in his life, he felt like he was being pulled back from something more important than fishing.

The brown fur ball woke up the next morning, stretching his body and yawning. He could see a white mist coming from his own mouth as he yawned, and blinked in amazement. Before he could open his mouth to speak and see the white mist, there was a vibration feeling coming from the ground then stopped a few seconds after. He took a peek out from his open shelter and saw that a car had stopped in front of the building that he took shelter in. Then a tall human got out first from the left side of the car then another human followed the first human out the car.
Once he laid eyes on the last human that got out of the car, he felt his lips curling into a smile, though he wasn’t sure how to do it. The human would be normal to other people since he looked like other people, but his rather unique features and especially that chubby face made him stick his tongue out playfully. The human had spiky hair that he wanted to mess with and drool all over. Without thinking, the brown fur ball stepped out from his shelter and ran to the human with spiked hair. Before he could speak, he felt his whole face bump into something hard, and he fell on the floor--his butt saving his fall. When he looked up, his eyes met the human with the spiked hair’s eyes and something about the human gave him a warm feeling. Just as he was going to put his hands on the human, and beg his stomach be tickled, the other human that came out first dragged away the human with spiked hair from him. And for the first time since his first and last owner that gave him love abandoned him, his eyes dilated as he watched the human with spiked hair watched him back.
