$600 is going to be a nice, but is it really going to help our economy? Most people will just pay off pre existing debt and that's it. Or, if they are smart, save it. People aren't going to just go out and have a nice little shopping spree... even I'll probably save a lot of it for next year

Reminds me how the province here gave out $400 "prosperity cheques" to every resident. Mine went into savings but I've sure a lot of other people blew theirs. Some people here do go on sprees, I'm sure.
