god this journal has so many ooc posts.
oh, for contact purposes,
you can always find me here, or PM Mildmay's journal. WHICHEVER. I'll probably respond relatively quick.
Threadhopping/threadjacking with this character?:
Go for it, man.
Backtagging/backdating with this character?: Yes, please. If something's up and you wanna backdate shit, be my guest. Just note that I have a tendency to drop threads if it looks like the thread is done. If you feel like it wasn't, though, or had something else planned for it later on, feel free to drop me a note and I'll start the thread up again.
Hugging this character?: Hahahaha sure, fine. Be warned, though; Mildmay doesn't like surprises, and might try to stab your character (I will not, however, let him actually stab anyone without the mun's permission). Or just react negatively to physical contact in general. Unless your character is/looks like a child/innocent person. Then he'll just be confused.
Clear as mud? COOL. Moving on.
Giving this character a kiss?: See above. You don't have to ask my permission, of course, but most likely you won't get any tongue. He won't stab you, but he might pull out a knife, or possibly try to hit your character. If your character is an adult male, he might also freak out. The yelling confused kind of freak out, not the angry stabbing kind of freak out, don't worry.
Something more intimate?: Ask first. Mildmay would probably jump at the chance for a good lay (in a purely no-strings-attached fashion), but, y'know, ask me first.
Relationships?: Mildmay could probably use a girlfriend (Mildmay rates like a 1.5 on the Kinsey scale, sorry guys/relatives) but, you know, ask me first if it looks like things are heading in this direction. Actually, if it looks like things are heading in this direction, I'll probably ask you first.
Injury?: Mildmay is something of a pro fighter, even with a bum leg, which means I'd need to know if your character could conceivably wound him first (he gets winded easily and doesn't have any ~magical powers~, though, so it's very feasible). So ask me and we can talk it out.
Death?: While usually I am fine with torturing my characters as need be, Mildmay is a) from a pretty torturous canon already, b) has already, as he'd say, seen some shit and c) already in the middle of a deep depression from the canon point I took him from (he is not post-series). I have to keep track of how certain things will impact him because potentially he could fall even further into said depression, which makes him more and more difficult to play. (There's a sort of balance I have to walk, keeping him from getting too depressed, but managing his depression in interesting ways. Mildmay, for me, is most interesting to play when he's miserable and confused, but I prefer his misery to be borne of emotional turmoil and stagnation, rather than gore, fear and horror.) This is all a very roundabout way of saying ask me first, because I'm not against it on principle, but I need to know the circumstances. Dying would really bum Mildmay out.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character?: Please ask first, so I know what your character'd potentially see. There are a few things I'd like folks not to be privy to without building CR with Mildmay. Other shit, though? Go ahead. So, ask me first so we can organize shit.
Is there anything you do not want mentioned near this character?: Uhhh no, not that I can think of. He's from a pretty gruesome canon, he can dig it. Just, you know, don't infomod him. That would make me really sad.
Is there anything you need us to know about interacting with this character?:
- Neutral Good/Hufflepuff/Tully.
- If your character would conceivably be in a position to 4th Wall him, please... notify me first, because I'm just so dang curious as to how that's even possible. Also because it might fuck with Mildmay's head a little.
- Mildmay won't 4th Wall anyone because he's not familiar with any Earth media, though occasionally he might say that name sounds familiar, because Medusian tautology (that he's familiar with, I hasten to add) is a hodgepodge of Europe and the Mediterranean thrown in a blender and on fire. Alternatively, he might say something reminds him of a story he heard once, but that's to be expected. He might say something Shakespearian sounds familiar, because the author of the book series he's from really loves stealing from Shakespeare oh my god.
- Mildmay is illiterate, and will as such be making mostly voice posts (in fact, unless otherwise stated, assume every comment and post is voiced). But! He has a very thick accent (it'll sound like Southern-United-Statesish, specifically) with very eccentric vocabulary. Plus, he has a huge scar across his face that makes it difficult for him to form words properly. As such! If your character ever has no idea what he said, feel free to have them ask him. And likewise! If you want to make your character not be able to understand what he said at all because occasionally his words are slurred to incomprehensible, please go ahead and ask him to repeat himself; he's used to it, and will if he has to.
- Mildmay's scar, for future reference, is basically here. As you can see, it's far more intense than the ones in his icons. It twists up his mouth, cutting deep into his lip.
- Also, the Jashuki cane he uses to get around basically looks like this. I am an arteest.
Aaaand I think that concludes our little chat. If you've got any questions, feel free to leave 'em here! If you think you can stand more of my
words, glory to you.
