[Tatsunosuke comes dashing into the door, only to see he's just missed the stray bird. Unfortunately, he can't go chasing after her just yet. Not with a man openly weeping over some crushed bread-item.]

I'm so sorry! [Vash may be on his knees, but Tatsu is the master of dropping down. His forehead almost touches the floor as he apologizes.] Please, she's a mindless animal. She certainly didn't mean to trample your--whatever it was.

MY DONUTS! I was saving the very best for last! The very best one! But she crushed it! My donut... [IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!]

Right, your donut! [Which is apparently something of great value, given how this man is reacting. Tatsunosuke lifts his head long enough to look around, in hopes that the bakery isn't completely trashed.]

...Maybe if we look, we can find you another donut? One that'll be just as good as the one you lost.

[Okay, honestly? Tatsunosuke understands what it's like to be desperate for food. Not because he's ever been that hungry (thank goodness), but because he's had to work as a provider for himself and his brother. But this is pushing it a bit too far, even for him.

At least until the point that the guy shows a bit of hope again. Honestly, this is worse than Okita gets with candy.]

R-right. A better one! [But it's an out, and Tatsunosuke needs it if he's going to catch up with Tammy any time soon.] Well, let's start looking. Ah--just what does a donut look like?
