Ojuken Sentai Arashi

Starting to translate the first of 3 remaining episodes of Ojuken Sentai Arashi (so hard with such old videos!) but have no idea what software to use to make subtitles. Can anyone recommend something? Otherwise I can just post the translation for someone more competent to make subs with

most of the subbers use aegisub to create a softsub..
and for hardsubbing i usually use AVI recomp but some uses virtual dub..

Thanks for the info! I used Aegisub to finish the 3rd episode but would like to try other software to see what's best. :)

Thank you very much! I've been sick a lot lately so have only subbed episode 3 so far but hope to start on episode 4 in the coming week. :) Can't wait to finish and move onto Invisible Nino and Mune-kun!

Not sure quite how to hardcode yet so might just upload soft subs to begin with.
