Summary: Donghae is the son of a powerful emperor, and his life is in danger as he received a death threat. He is obliged to move out of his palace and enter the world of peasants just to be kept in a low profile. During his stay in a poor village, he meets Eunhyuk and learns many things he didn’t know, and one of those things was love.
A/N: I’m so sorry for not updating. I had a pretty hard exams week, and I was literally dying of boredom and about to surrender, but then a A+ cheered me up xD and then I had to attend a wedding, so for the last time, SORRY! oh! and yes, this fic is weird, let's just say that it's a mix of ancient times with modern day xD
“I know where Donghae is,” said the mysterious voice.
“It took you long enough to tell me where the hell he is,” said another mysterious voice.
“Well, I had to take him far away.”
“I want you to gather all the ninjas, and send them to kill Donghae.”

Eunhyuk woke up earlier than he usually did. He saw Donghae sleeping, his diary below the pillow again. This time, Eunhyuk didn’t have the curiosity to see what Donghae wrote. Instead, he went back to sleep, just that this time, he laid a little bit closer to Donghae.
After 1 hour, Donghae woke up just to see that Eunhyuk’s face was too close. If Donghae move a little bit forward, he would end up kissing Eunhyuk’s cheek. No later, Eunhyuk woke up and stared at Donghae who was also staring at him back.
“You’re… awake,” said Eunhyuk after a long silence that surrounded them.
“Uh… I guess so… um…. Good morning!” said Donghae awkwardly, although inside, he feels like he’s going to explode of embarrassment any moment.
“Uh… good morning,” said Eunhyuk, turning around just to hide his blushing face.
“Are you okay, Eunhyuk?” asked Donghae innocently.
“Ummm yeah, I’ll just go to the bathroom,” said Eunhyuk, going to the bathroom without looking back.
Donghae felt something was wrong with Eunhyuk, and he decided to just ask him again after Eunhyuk gets out of the bathroom. Meanwhile, Eunhyuk just tried to calm his furious beating of his heart. He didn’t know what was going on. He couldn’t explain what that feeling was. He just barely knows Donghae, and he just feels something for him. He doesn’t want to believe that it’s love… just that maybe he likes Donghae a little bit? He doesn’t know at all.
After Eunhyuk came out of the bathroom, he saw Donghae folding the bed covers. He smiled at how Donghae tried to fold them with great effort, and then he laughed when Donghae tried to put the bed covers inside the closet, but the closet opened and the covers end up covering Donghae.
“You seriously need to learn, come on, it’s like the fourth day you stay in here,” said Eunhyuk, taking the bed covers from Donghae and folding them.
“I don’t know why it’s just me,” Donghae said, pouting.
“I think the bed covers hate you,” Eunhyuk joked, but when he saw that Donghae had watery eyes, he went to hug Donghae. “I’m sorry. I was just joking.”
“Ha! I got you!” Donghae smiled at Eunhyuk.
“You… “ Eunhyuk just hit Donghae’s arm and went out of the bedroom.
Donghae looked at the retreating form and felt sad. He put the folded covers inside the closet and ran outside the room.
“Eunhyuk, I’m sorry!” shouted Donghae.
“Don’t shout, jeez,” said Eunhyuk who was just going to enter the room, but stopped when he saw Donghae coming out of there.
“Oh, oops. Are you mad at me?” asked Donghae worried.
“No, I’m not. I was joking also.”
“I swear I’ll have my revenge for making me feel bad.”
“Hey… you started it!”
“Well, can’t I joke around like you did?”
“It’s not my fault you took the bed covers thingy seriously!”
“Well, you shouldn’t have said that in the first place!”
“Ha! Who said I-“
“Stop you two! If you want to fight, go outside, please,” Won Bin interrupted.
“Sir…” both Eunhyuk and Donghae said at unison.
“Now what?” asked Won Bin with a raised eyebrow.
“We were joking around,” both of them said.
“I’m going insane with you, kids,” Won Bin face palmed. “Anyways, breakfast will be ready soon. Eunhyuk, could you help me with some things here? Donghae, you can go watch T.V. if you want.”
Instead of going to Won Bin’s room to watch T.V, Donghae decided to sit by the main entrance of the house. He stayed there, breathing the pure air, looking at little kids playing with a ball, listening to the birds chirp…
His peaceful moment was interrupted by an arrow. The arrow hit the wall beside Donghae’s head, so if Donghae were to lean his head on the wall, he would be hit by a random arrow that came out of nowhere. Donghae tried to calm his heart out. What just happened was worst than receiving the news that someone wanted him dead.
“Donghae! It’s time to eat!” called Eunhyuk from the kitchen.
Donghae took a moment to observe the arrow, and noticed that there was a letter attached to it. He took the letter and put it inside his right pocket, then threw the arrow far away from home. Then he went back inside to eat breakfast.
“Did you enjoy today’s breakfast?” asked Eunhyuk after he made Donghae wash all the dishes. He still thought that Donghae needed to “improve.”
“Yeah, I did,” said Donghae, showing his smile to Eunhyuk before going to the bathroom. “I’m going to shower, ok?”
“Do you want me to help you rub your back?” asked Eunhyuk, anticipating the answer more than he should.
“No thanks, better next time,” said Donghae, closing the bathroom’s door.
Well, at least I’ll put his new clothes by the door, thought Eunhyuk. So he put Donghae’s new clothes, that were bought by Won Bin, by the door.

Donghae,
I’m sure you don’t want US to kill those poor people you live with, so don’t reveal this letter, or don’t even think of telling anyone about this letter… we have ninjas watching you closely. If you want to live, just come to the forest that is near where you live. We want you there at 2 pm, and if you are late for even 1 minute, say good bye to those people, understand? Also, don’t bring anyone with you; remember we are watching you.
Donghae felt fear the moment he read that he was being watched by ninjas. He decided that he will go to the forest, give them whatever they want, and go back to Eunhyuk like if nothing happened. That was his plan. He just hopes that God will be by his side.
After Eunhyuk felt like 3 hours has gone by, but actually just 1 hour has passed, he decided to barge in to the bathroom.
“Eunhyuk!” shouted Donghae, covering himself from exposing his body to Eunhyuk.
“Oh come on, you have been in here for like… ages!” shouted Eunhyuk back, flailing his arms into the air.
“I... I… is it illegal to take a 1-hour-shower?” asked Donghae clueless. “Don’t tell me that peasant people take like 10 minutes to shower.”
“No, but we don’t take a long time, like a certain person, showering.” Eunhyuk glared at Donghae.
“Eunhyuk… what time is it now?” asked Donghae all of a sudden.
“It’s 11 am already,” answered Eunhyuk, looking at the clock that was hung by the wall, across the room.
“Oh… I’ll hurry up,” said Donghae. “Meanwhile… could you… get out?”
“Oh… right,” Eunhyuk went out of the bathroom, closed the door, and sighed. That Donghae…

“We already sent a letter to Donghae,” said one of the ninjas, kneeling in front of a mysterious man.
“Good,” said the mysterious man with a mischief tone.
“What do you want us to do after we get him?” asked the 2nd ninja that appeared out of nowhere.
“Kill him silently,” said that man.

“Donghae, I’m going to buy some food for us, do you want to come with me?” asked Eunhyuk, hoping that Donghae would say “yes” at least.
“I would love to, but I feel… sick,” said Donghae, acting out that his stomach hurts.
“A stomachache?” Eunhyuk looked at Donghae with worry. “Don’t worry Donghae, I’ll buy the food and the medicine, so just go and sleep in our room.”
“Okay, thanks Eunhyuk…” Donghae smiled to Eunhyuk.
“No problem, I’ll be right back.”
“By the way, I’m sorry Eunhyuk. I’m making you do this, even though it’s tiring.”
“Donghae… I think your health is what matters now; I don’t care if I walk miles just to get the medicine, I just want you to be healthy… so don’t die on me, please.”
Donghae blushed at what he just heard and nodded. With that, Eunhyuk ruffled Donghae’s hair and smiled.
“Please, don’t get out of this house,” said Eunhyuk before leaving him alone.
Sorry Eunhyuk, I just had to do this or Won Bin and you soon would be dead, Donghae thought.

When the clock stroke 1:30 pm, Donghae realized that he was still alone. So he left the house and went straight to the woods. Nothing could stop the hard beatings of his heart. He felt a lump stuck by the neck, a feeling of panic overcoming his self control. But he had to be brave; he didn’t want anyone to die just because of him.
After he arrived, he felt someone grab him behind, twisting his right arm and pulling it to his back.
“Who are you?” asked Donghae, trying to get himself free.
“Don’t ask, just follow,” said the ninja, taking Donghae deep into the woods.
“Who is behind all of-“
“Hi Donghae, it’s been a long time since we saw each other,” said the man who was in front of Donghae.
Donghae just gasped…
