“Mom, just because I brought her here today, doesn’t mean that you have to become her best friend,” Kyuhyun said as he sees his mom and Sungmin on a bed, pictures of baby Kyuhyun at full exposure. “Mom, stop showing pictures of me to strangers!”

“Kyuhyun, watch your mouth! Respect guests,” Mrs. Cho stated without looking at her son. Instead, she started to point out little Kyuhyun’s pictures while narrating what happened during the shot.

“He was dancing ‘sorry sorry,’ but he lost his balance and fell. You should have seen his face!” Sungmin and Mrs. Cho started to laugh, making Kyuhyun boil with anger at how childish they were acting.

“This is enough!” Kyuhyun grabbed Sungmin’s wrist and pulled her out of his room. “We are doing a project, don’t interrupt!”

As soon as Kyuhyun reached the living room, he let go of Sungmin’s wrist harshly. “I thought you were going to the bathroom, but I guess I was wrong. I did all my part, now do yours.”

“I’m sorry. Your mom pulled me inside your room and started to show me those pictures. You were cute,” Sungmin giggled as she remembered Kyuhyun’s priceless facial expressions from pictures. “Now, you’re really ugly.”

Kyuhyun frowned at that remark. “Hell no, I’m handsome, right?”

“To me, you’re ugly,” Sungmin replied as she started to put all the materials onto the 3D model. “Have you ever seen yourself in a mirror?”

“If you call me ugly, you’re horrible.”

Sungmin ignored Kyuhyun, picked up her things and went straight to the main door.

“Where are you going, Min?” Kyuhyun asked. He thought that Sungmin was mad at him for what he said, so he decided to move closer to Sungmin.

“I’m going home, it’s already late.” Sungmin put on her shoes and shouted, “I’ll go back home, Mrs. Cho.”

Mrs. Cho came out of her room and waved her goodbye. “Be sure to go home as promised, don’t stop by food stores or anything like that, dear.”
“I won’t, goodnight.”

Sungmin walked out of Kyuhyun’s apartment while Kyuhyun looked at the closed door with excitement. He could finally go sit in front of his computer, turn it on, and play starcraft, but his mom didn’t let him do his night routine.

“Kyuhyun, you should treat her like a princess, not like a trash,” his mom said, looking at Kyuhyun worried. She wanted Kyuhyun to be with Sungmin since the first day Kyuhyun brought her over the apartment to study physics. So delighted about Sungmin’s bubbly personality and looks, she told Kyuhyun to pair up with her in every projects, homeworks, whatever it was to make her come over.

“Mom, I seriously don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’ll tell you this. I will never date Min.” Mrs. Cho just stared at her son seriously, but laughed the next second.

“That’s what you think, son? I know that if you date her, you will wish her to be your wife,” she said with confidence and went straight to her room. “Goodnight, son.”

The next day, Kyuhyun had problem taking the big 3D model to school. He would carry the project every 5 minutes, and 1 minute of rest. When he finally saw the school’s gate, he made the effort to take it to his classroom, but 1 little kid ran across Kyuhyun that the latter lost his balance. Feeling like eternity, Kyuhyun opened his eyes just to see a pair of beautiful hands holding the project at the other end.

“Good morning, Kyu.” Sungmin smiled.

“Good morning, Min.” Kyuhyun said, holding the project tighter. “Are you still mad at me?”

“Not anymore,” Sungmin replied, moving towards the school while holding the project. Kyuhyun had to walk at the same time as Sungmin to prevent the project falling. When they finally entered their classroom, Kyuhyun let the project fall on top of a desk recklessly. Sungmin screamed in frustration at Kyuhyun’s recklessness that she started to punch Kyuhyun’s chest softly.

“You almost break the project, stupid!” Sungmin sat on her chair.

“I’m sorry, okay?” Kyuhyun sat on his chair and looked out the window.

It was always like this: Sungmin trying to get Kyuhyun’s attention, Kyuhyun always ignoring her. Everyone thought they made a cute couple, but Kyuhyun would make them think otherwise. He would always talk about Zhoumi and Ryeowook, who were both one grade below. In other hand, Sungmin had her group of friends who cheered her all the way; they were: Leeteuk, Donghae, and Heechul. During lunch, Sungmin and her friends would “stalk” Kyuhyun and his gang: Eunhyuk, Kangin, and Hangeng.

“I feel it is time for us to move on, they are popular!” Leeteuk cried out, watching Kangin eyeing a girl across his table.

“Oh come on, Leeteuk. You should never give up, like Sungmin,” Donghae tried to cheer Leeteuk up, but failed.

“Hey Leeteuk, you should-“

“Sungmin!” Mrs. Cho appeared by the cafeteria’s door. Sungmin went to see what she wanted. “Oh Sungmin, it’s been years since I last saw you.”

“Um, we saw each other yesterday, but how come you’re here? Are you here to visit Kyu?” Sungmin watched Mrs. Cho with curiosity.

“Actually, I came here to see you. You see… I brought you a lunchbox so you can eat. Look at yourself, you’re too skinny! You need to have some muscles, my dear.”

“Oh… thanks Mrs. Cho! I will eat well and gain some muscles!”

“Mom, what are you doing here?” Kyuhyun sneaked into the conversation his mom and Sungmin were having. “You’re supposed to be in house…”

“Son, just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I need to spend half of the day in the house. For your information, I brought Sungmin a lunchbox.” Mrs. Cho was now smiling mischievously. “Why don’t you eat with her since I brought only 1 lunchbox?”

Mrs. Cho pushed Sungmin and Kyuhyun to an empty table and started to take out all the food. People were staring both teenagers and then the food. Both of them started to eat silently while Leeteuk, Heechul, Donghae, Kangin, Hangeng and Eunhyuk watched them eat with curiosity. As soon as they finished, they gave thanks to Mrs. Cho and ran away; they were embarrassed.

“Cho Kyuhyun, your mom is too nice with me, why is that?” Sungmin asked while Kyuhyun walked in circles in an empty hallway.

“My mom wants us to be together practically,” Kyuhyun said, staring at floor.

Sungmin immediately blushed and tried to hide it by covering her face with her hair. Kyuhyun saw that and thought that Sungmin couldn’t be cuter than now; now it was his turn to blush. The bell rang and all the students went directly to their respective classes. Kyuhyun walked 5 meters behind Sungmin so that people won’t get the idea that they are dating or something.

“Sungmin!” Donghae shouted as soon as she saw Sungmin. She grabbed her shoulder and pushed her down to her seat. “You have to tell us what happened there, like right now!”

“Well, let’s just say that I was lucky to get lunch from Kyuhyun’s mom,” Sungmin said, blushing.

“You’re blushing… just spill it out and everything will be resolved,” Heechul spoke behind Donghae.

“I really don’t know what’s going on, but I have a feeling that his mom wants me as her daughter in law,” Sungmin blushed even harder.

“Well, look at you. You’re talking all confidently about that,” said Heechul, smirking.

“Whose mom would give a bento to a friend of her son? Specially a girl…”

“Sungmin, I think you can get Kyuhyun to be your boyfriend,” Donghae spoke behind Heechul. “You’re lucky at least…”

“Donghae, I’m sure you will get Eunhyuk as your prince soon!” Sungmin replied, walking towards her and hug her endlessly.

“Talking about the devil…” Heechul whispered next to Donghae and Sungmin.

Heechul motioned her eyes from us to the door. Surprisingly, there was Eunhyuk leaning his back on a wall inside the classroom, smiling at Donghae. Donghae just looks at him and smiles, then turns to look at them and squeal. Sungmin saw that Eunhyuk somehow smiled bigger than before and walked towards Donghae.

“Donghae, may I speak to you…. privately?” Eunhyuk asked as soon as Donghae turned to look at him.

“Sure…” Donghae smiled then walked out of the classroom with Eunhyuk.

Heechul and Sungmin stayed there, waiting patiently for Donghae’s return. While waiting for almost 5 minutes, Heechul saw Hankyung walking by the hallway; she immediately left the classroom to walk along with him. Sungmin, the only one who stayed in the classroom while everyone went to do their own business, sighed and sat down on her chair. She felt lunch hour was eternal until the bell rang, meaning everyone had to go back to classes. When she saw Donghae and Heechul grinning from ear to ear, she just deduced one thing: they finally got boyfriends.

Kyuhyun seeing one of his best girl - friends sad, he decided to sit next to her chair silently. Meanwhile, Sungmin didn’t notice his presence until he whispered next to her ear: Minnie?

“What are you doing here?” Sungmin asked half-shocked and half-excited.

“I saw my dear best girl - friend sad, so I sat here. Is there any problem with that?” Kyuhyun asked with a pout.

“No, not at all,” Sungmin replied and sighed.

Kyuhyun stared at Sungmin for a while until he decided to move her head on his shoulder and his head on her head. Sungmin gasped then relaxed after realizing what Kyuhyun did.

“I just want to let you know that I… I can lend you my shoulder whenever you want,” Kyuhyun said, hesitating at first.

“T-Thanks, Kyu,” Sungmin said and smiled at him before going back to the same position.

“No problem. I just wonder… where’s the teacher?”

“Who knows? Maybe monsters ate him,” Sungmin said. Kyuhyun just laughs at Sungmin’s silliness.

After school, Sungmin and Kyuhyun walked side by side to their respective homes. Suddenly, Kyuhyun grabbed Sungmin’s hand and kept that way until Sungmin reached her home. They both blushed knowing that they walked hand by hand all the way from school to home, but Kyuhyun smiled and hugged her to ease that awkward moment.

Just when Kyuhyun was going to walk away, he saw Sungmin take out her cellphone and look at the screen happily.

“Why are you looking at that thing so… happily?” Kyuhyun asked, curious to what the message said. He wasn’t that dumb to not know it was obviously a message.

“It’s from Siwon, he wants to meet up with me right now at the park,” Sungmin said cheerfully.

“Oh you know what?” Kyuhyun grabbed her shoulder to prevent her from running straight to the park. “I want to watch a movie with you right now.”

“But… why all of a sudden? We can watch movies tomorrow,” Sungmin looked at Kyuhyun with a frown.

“Come on, let’s watch a movie today!” Kyuhyun tried to convince her with his “aegyo.”

“Fine, do you have a movie to watch?”

“Of course I do! Let’s watch,” Kyuhyun opens his school bag and takes out a DVD box with “Saw III” labeled on it.

Sungmin just stared at the box, then turned to pout at Kyuhyun. As for Kyuhyun, he just smiled and turned to walk inside Sungmin’s house. First, he greeted Sungmin’s mom, then he put the disc into the DVD player. All the while, Sungmin just sighed and sat next to Kyuhyun. Before the movie began, Sungmin’s phone vibrated and she gladly opened it to see a message from Siwon.

“What happened?” Kyuhyun asked. Sungmin didn’t answer. “Let me see.”

Kyuhyun grabs Sungmin’s cellphone away and read the message.

To: Sungmin
From: Siwon
Where are you? I need to see you…

Sungmin tried to take her cellphone away from Kyuhyun, but knowing Kyuhyun’s long arm, she just let Kyuhyun see the message. The next second, she saw Kyuhyun typing something on her cellphone.

“Hey, don’t you dare reply his message!” Sungmin shouted and tried to get her cellphone back again.

“I’ll give you this at the end of the movie,” Kyuhyun smirked.

“Fine…”

So they started watching the movie. Sungmin would hide her face with a pillow, while Kyuhyun tried to take her pillow away. There was a point when Kyuhyun put his arm on her shoulders because he knew that Sungmin would jump and bury her face on Kyuhyun’s chest because of someone being decapitated. Kyuhyun just smiled. At the end of the movie, Sungmin cried silently onto Kyuhyun’s chest; she couldn’t bear someone being cut or any sort of things like that.

“Min…” Kyuhyun tried to calm her by patting her back. “Look at me.”

Sungmin did what she was told to, she stared Kyuhyun and what happened next just shocked her.

Kyuhyun kissed her full on her lips.

“Don’t cry, would you? I can’t see you crying like that…”

Sungmin just blushed and let Kyuhyun take her tears away with his thumb. She never thought that Kyuhyun would kiss her not now or never, but when she was kissed by him, she felt she was between clouds.

“Min… I know that I act like a jerk, but I want to let you know what I like you so much since… I can’t even remember when,” Kyuhyun said, staring deep into her eyes. “And I just want to tell you something…”

Kyuhyun kissed her again.

“You’re mine.”

Sungmin was dumbstruck until Kyuhyun got up, took the disc out of the DVD, and left with a bow to Sungmin’s mom. She then noticed her cellphone was in front of her; she opened it then looked at the sent message.

To: Siwon
From: Sungmin
Don’t try to hit on her, because she’s my wife.
-Kyuhyun
