The Lion King grossed $23M in Thursday night previews, well ahead of other Disney live-action remakes, and the best Thursday night preview ever for a non-Marvel Disney release.
The opening weekend numbers are look at $180M+, and possibly $200M. This would be the best July opening weekend gross ever, beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2‘s $169.1M.
Is being released in a record 4,725 theaters (Avengers: Endgame was released in 4,662 theaters this April).
Has already crossed $130M internationally (included last weekend's China release)
