Woman Dies While Trying To Reach "Into The Wild" Bus In Alaska
A 24-year-old hiker has died in Alaska while trying to reach the abandoned bus made famous by the book and film Into the Wild. Several people have died trying to reach the bus.
The bus is a pilgrimage for many hikers, because it is the place where a nomad named Christopher McCandless died. Played in the film by Emile Hirsch, McCandless became a wanderer after graduating college, but died of exposure in the Alaskan wilderness.
