July 30, 2019 A collaboration between director Martin Scorsese and two of the actors most associated with him, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, has been mooted a number of times, but has not yet come to pass - De Niro was supposed to be in both Gangs of New York and The Departed, but had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. Scorsese and De Niro's first film collaboration in a quarter century will come out this fall (The Irishman), but that film is Leo-less.
Now, De Niro is in negotiations for a major role in Killers of the Flower Moon, an adaptation of David Grann's non-fictional account of the not-yet-FBI's investigations into the Osage Indian murders in the 1920s, with DiCaprio as Special Agent Tom White. As an aside, if you haven't read Grann's Killers of the Flower Moon, do so immediately (and without reading anything further on the subject, if you don't know anything about it); it is a fantastic book.
