With Halloween around the corner, it’s that time of the year to answer one of the season’s most important questions: Which is the best candy trick-or-treaters prefer?

A recent survey answered that question revealing the most popular Halloween candy in every state, as well as the most popular candy in 20 major U.S. cities for 2019.

So. Which candy reigned supreme? Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, which took the top spot in 12 states and 4 U.S. cities.

Airheads, Nerds, SweeTarts, and Gummy Worms are the least popular, with just one state each.

The survey also asked one of the most controversial questions of the season: Should Halloween remain on October 31st or be moved to the last Saturday of the month?

2,004 people in residential neighborhoods across the country gave their answer, but it’s a near even split.

48% percent of respondents supported keeping Halloween exactly where it is, on October 31st. However, 52% supported moving the holiday to the last Saturday of the month. Smh.

[Methodology Used]According to the Source: “Using the Google AdWords platform, we analyzed search volume trends for more than 100 different types of candy, over the period of September 2018 to October 2018 in all 50 states and the 20 largest cities in the country.

On September 10, 2019, we surveyed 2,004 people living in residential neighborhoods. 40 percent of respondents reported having children who still trick-or-treat, and the average age of respondents was 38 years old.”
