November 11, 2019 Famed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (West Wing, The Social Network) wrote an op-ed in the New York Times last Thursday criticizing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's unwillingness to contain political posts spreading misinformation. While Sorkin expressed admiration for The Social Network's subject's belief in free speech, he called Facebook's reluctance to go after right-wing fake news as dangerous and damaging to society. Zuckerberg responded by posting a quote from the Sorkin-penned film An American President and continues to evade responsibility for promoting right-wing propoganda on his site.
