Ian McKellen Reveals That He Once Got Scammed
Sir Ian McKellen is playing a con man in The Good Liar, and he revealed that he was once scammed by a con artist on the street playing three-card monte:
“You know that business with the three-card trick, Find the Lady [a k a three-card monte]? When someone is on the street with a cardboard box, and you have to pick the face card? I watched that for a long time and decided that I knew how it was done. So I would pick a card, he would flick it, and I knew that I was done. I hated it - I felt like such an idiot.”
