Anna Sorokin, the Soho Grifter, Has Found Love in Prison
Anna Sorokin, aka Anna Delvey, is a Russian woman who pretended to be a German heiress and scammed people out of more than a quarter of a million dollars. She is serving 4-12 years at Rikers, but don't worry... she has found love in prison.
“Earlier, prior to leaving [for prison] Anna had what she called some sort of girlfriend on Rikers Island. She did say that she had a ‘girlfriend’ - though the exact nature of the relationship behind bars was unclear."
Sorokin tricked banks into giving her outrageous loans which she wouldn't pay back. She even conned her friend out of $60,000 for a luxury vacation to Morocco. There are two movie/TV projects about Sorokin in the works at Netflix and HBO to be directed by Shonda Rhimes and Lena Dunham, respectively.
