Umm, isn't the easy answer "they want it, but if they got it, the show would lose ratings?"

Anyone a fan of the show? They did a will they/won't they with the title characters and [Spoiler (click to open)] "The Duke" was barely in season four, at the end he finally told Eliza he loved her, they barely discussed it, then he off and leaves for New York "for a year" --- only for the actor and showrunners to confirm he's being written off the show in between seasons 😔

!? Wait wtf [Spoiler (click to open)]so he's now gone from the show?! First they sent off Moses to Paris, then Nash went to prison, and now they're writing off William; they're killing off all the interesting interpersonal connections (be it platonic or otherwise) that Eliza has cultivated over the past few series. At this rate she'll only have Ivy around, and unless she's going to be helping out more in Eliza's cases, she's still mostly a supporting character.

This is ridiculous!

[Spoiler (click to open)]Ugh, four series of will they/won't they, and all we're left with is squandered potential. What a massive waste of time.

Because tbh unless they actually engage in some character development for Eliza -- so that she isn't bulldozing through everything with her plot armour*, not facing any meaningful challenges or personal growth -- I'm not really interested in watching a show just about her. Besides, there are better fictional Victorian women detectives out there, like Sally Lockhart.

Learning that Scentbird has a terrible CEO made me sad, although I unsubbed when they jacked up prices again.

Scentbird gave me the chance to try new perfumes that are high quality without spending $150 on a bottle. I go through samples so fast, their bottles last longer for me. Plus, I don't use that much because of skin allergies, so it made sense ugh idk why I was typing that and my mind suddenly got confused by the word scent just interfering with my typing.
