I've had irregular periods all my life but the doctors say I do't have PCOS and they don't think I have endo so they just basically shrugged their shoulders. Great.

I actually asked my doctor if I could be tested for PCOS bc my other gyno said I could. She looked at me so confused and was like I don’t think we should if you don’t have any issues. So I’m happy Flo got a proper diagnosis. Wish it could be the same for everyone! Doctors need to take women and especially women of color’s concerns more seriously

It's really weird that they shut you down so quickly. PCOS can often be diagnosed with just a standard blood test / hormone panel. I'd recommend getting a second opinion tbh. 🤔

i'm three weeks out from my hysterectomy for adenomyosis and stage IV endo 🥳 i'm actually in chemical menopause right now because hormonal birth control wasn't controlling the pain or bleeding anymore. i've been in extreme pain since i was 12 and by the time doctors finally listened to me in my 30s my uterus had been retroverted back and adhered to my spinal column with scar tissue from the endo

I’m 4 months post op from my laparoscopy where I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. I am incredibly grateful that I could afford surgery but it was so fucking expensive! And I can’t even really afford it. I used CareCredit. But I spent 10 years trying to manage it with birth control and the side effects were too much. I could never find one that was a good fit.

It sucks though bc my dr said post op the hope is for about 2 years without issues but no promises. So I’m just kind of navigating through my healing process wondering if I’m still recovering or if it’s growing back.

I'm pretty sure PCOS is genetic (by that I mean encoded in your DNA, but it is also highly hereditary) so I don't think it can ever 'go away.' You probably just managed your symptoms well enough that it seems like it's not affecting you anymore. But congrats! I hope you can continue to live in your body with no symptoms.
