I feel zero percent surprised that someone who wrote misogynistic things turned out to be a creepy groomer. I feel sorry for this woman, I've notice it's not unique for people who have been blatantly physically abused as children to feel warmly towards groomers who were surface level nice to them during that time.

I'm glad she got away.

Fuck McCarthy. Fuck Vanity Fair for, in the year 2024, trying to paint this as an inspiring romance or some bullshit.

I'm not surprised. Carla Jean was originally a teen bride in the novel version of No Country for Old Men. The Coens decided to age her up for the film adaptation

According to the artlcle if you read his novels, they are full of teenage love interests although VF makes the case that they are basically all a variation of her.
