i love these posts and also didn’t realize that both the piano lesson and blitz are now streaming! gonna check them both out asap.

i finally saw conclave last week and FUCKING LOVED IT. those messy lil priests! considering making it my entire personality for at least the rest of the year.

seeing wicked on saturday for my friend’s bday and i am stoked! on my zoom staff meeting this morning we were talking about it coming out (i work at a small firm and about half of us love musicals) and one of the partners just HAD to be like, “i really hate musicals, everyone. like really hate them.” she’s said this before and it’s like… idk who asked? it was like a 2 minute conversation. when people talk about football at staff meetings i don’t say anything even though i’m not a football person. people get so weird about musicals, it’s like SORRY YOU HATE JOY.

I saw Conclave at a festival and on an online group for the festival goers there is always a thread to post something about a movie that isn't a spoiler and somebody posted a picture of Gossip Girl for Conclave. LMAO

I need to see Flow, even though it's definitely going to make me cry. Could be happy tears! But animal movies always get me.

Ohh I need to watch the Piano Lesson and Blitz. Blitz sounded like it had Oscar buzz but it feels like that came and went. Every time I see Danielle’s name, I’m reminded of the risenborouh of it all a couple awards seasons ago.

Thank you for this post OP, I always look forward to your film commentary! Escaping to the theaters has been my saving grace this year♥️

Seeing Gladiator II tomorrow and finally able to fit Conclave into the weekend. I saw Small Things Like These on opening weekend. It's an important film imo, though yes, a story we've seen in film and TV productions over the past few decades - and I'm excited to see what Cillian's new production company picks up next - but it's such a somber, quiet film I'm afraid it won't get much of a theater audience. Even I was wishing for a blanket and a cup of tea with my theater experience. It's one of those films that makes you seek comfort. There were only three of us at the late afternoon matinée and it's gone already from my local.

Flow looks so good but I fear it would send me into an existential crisis. Also, like unlikely animal friendships is one of my favorite things but I fear irl they would all eat each other
