Move over, Vin Diesel

Move over Vin Diesel and Bruce Willis, there's a new action hero in Tinseltown - hunky Scot James McAvoy.

The 28-year-old starwill have female fans swooning over his buff physique in new adventure film Wanted. No wonder Hollywood gossips claimed co-star Angelina Jolie could not take her eyes off him on set after the pair filmed screen snogs.

James has been using French martial arts-style training technique Parkour, which involves running and jumping for four hours a day to help develop his new rippling torso. But incredibly he says he did not pay any attention to building the muscles in his upper body.

He said: "I didn't want to beef up for part - it wouldn't be in character. It's meant working out without building up bunches of muscles. It's been like doing a marathon - more endurance training than anything. And the film's great fun. It's like being a 14-year-old again."

James was originally turned down for the part of Wesley Gibson, a downtrodden young man who discovers that his long-lost father is a hired gunman. He said: "About seven months later they went, 'Look, we've been trying to find someone who's muscley and looks good but it just didn't work so could you do it?' They basically said, 'You're the runt of the litter.'"

In the 50million movie, which also stars Morgan Freeman, McAvoy's character is recruited into a covert organisation of killers after his dad is murdered. A source said: "This movie will take James to a whole new level. His career has been on a real upward curve and he has added another string to his bow."
