Fast and Furious news.

For fans of The Fast and the Furious franchise, there were still a few pretty big questions hanging over the movie. Mainly, just what exactly was this movie going to be about ... other than fast cars that look real cool when they go real fast? Well, wonder no longer because Universal has announced the official title and the final plot synopsis for the latest installment of the racing franchise. Now titled Fast and Furious (yo, they left out the 'the!'), the story centers on reuniting Dom Torretto (Vin Diesel) and agent Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) along with vets from the first film (Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez).

According to Universal's description, "When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him."

So far there have been a few on-set photos, and don't forget there was an early script review from Latino Review back in November. It would seem that it might have been legit since it got some of the details right (including some spoilerific details regarding the fate of Rodriguez’s character, Letty). Director Justin Lin is already talking about making one more film before retiring the series, but we'll have to wait to see how high gas prices climb first. Fast and Furious will arrive in theaters on June 5, 2009.

Seems Jordana Brewster won't be the only hot piece of tail holding a steering wheel in the new "Fast and the Furious" sequel.
Joining the cast of the Vin Diesel/Paul Walker reunion flick is newcomer Gal Gadot, a former Miss Israeli.
The face and body of Israel's Castro clothing line, Gadot was asked to meet with star and producer Diesel after he got wind that she'd "just" missed out on playing a Bond chickie in the upcoming "Quantum of Solace".
She is pictured below, and within the hour, can be seen riding a piece of blu-tac on the wall next to my bookshelf.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming “The Fast and the Furious 4″ so far: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Jordana Brewster are back. And according to the guys over at Latino Review, who have read the script, also back is Michelle Rodriguez as Letty and Han (played by Sung Kang) from “Tokyo Drift”. Wait, didn’t Han died at the end of “Tokyo Drift”? Yes, he did, but it is believe that “FF4″ will be a prequel to FF3. Or at least, it’ll take place before the last movie. Unless, of course, they make this Han the other Han’s evil twin brother or something.

In short, here’s the rundown of FF4’s Act One (via):

FF4 takes place five years after the events of FF1.

Dom is hiding out in the Dominican Republic after having been let go by Brian at the end of FF1. It’s here that he meets Han.

Meanwhile, Brian is in prison in Arizona. But wait, there’s a twist - Brian is undercover for the feds, and after completing his assignment, he’s back out on the streets.

So what’s happened to Letty, Dom’s girlfriend? She’s been trying to keep the crew from going under in his absence. This includes running drugs via their soup up cars for notorious South American drug dealer Antonio Braga, a man no one has ever seen. After one of her runs for Braga, Letty is killed, presumably by Braga enforcer Fenix.

Dom is told about Letty’s death from Mia (his sister) via a phone call. He returns to America to attend her funeral. Brian is also there, and fills him in. Brian tells Dom he’s going after Braga. That makes two of them.

And that is your set up for FF4. The Latino Review reviewer calls it the best FF story he’s read in the whole franchise. I’m not sure about that. Just make sure the hot babes and hot cars keep coming, and everything will be alright.
