Another Guess Who
Guess who I met today?
STEPHEN COLBERT!!
My friend (on the left) and I were at the Winston Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms in London today, as my parents were visiting (I go to school here) and my father wanted to go. We had managed to get pretty far ahead of my parents and decided to grab a bite at the cafe as I was starving. We sat down and didn't notice anything. We ordered and small talked and then my friend looked me in the eye and went "...Stephen Colbert is right there." I turned and sure enough, at the table right next to us in this obscure museum cafe with maybe four other people, sat the whole Colbert family.
We ate our snack in silence, both of us too nervous to talk. We decided that when either group left, we'd say hello. Maybe ten minute later, they were getting ready to go so we went over (although I almost lost my nerve. I didn't want to disturb him) and my friend said hello. We said that we were fans and that we just thought it was so nice to see him. He thanked us and shook our hands. We asked for a picture and he said sure. We asked someone to take our picture and then he went ahead with his kids after saying that it was very nice to meet us. He was pretty much the nicest guy ever.
His wife actually stayed behind to pay the bill and we talked to her for a little bit, as well. She was awfully sweet and all in all, this was probably one of the most exciting times of my life. Thank heavens my dad wanted to go to the random museum and that I was starving!
