Since "The L Word" spinoff never took off, Showtime is looking to revive the show another way.
The cable network has greenlit nine episodes of the reality show "The Real L Word: Los Angeles, report the trades.
From "L Word" creator Ilene Chaiken and the Magical Elves production company ("Top Chef"), the show will follow six lesbians in the City of Angels and plays like a lesbian "Real Housewives." The show is dependent on casting, however.
"Even though we concluded our sixth season of 'The L Word' on Showtime this past March, I believe we are not nearly finished telling our 'L Word' stories," Chaiken said. "Showtime has yet again come forward to continue with us this mission to entertain and enlighten and bring more 'L' to the world."
If all goes well, "The Real L Word" will premiere in 2010.
I Hate Ilene Chaiken for ruining everything good on The L Word. I can't believe they're giving her that power again!
Plus there is no way she could EVER find anyone who embodies this much sexiness the way Kate Moennig did.
And the f-ck up of this OTP is evidence enough of Chaiken's complete fail.
RIP Shane + Carmen
