"Game of Thrones" News: Catelyn Recast, Dany May Also Be Recast
Catelyn - Jennifer Ehle Replaced by Michelle Fairley
THR reports the role of Catelyn Stark has been recast, in what they call a ‘minor tweaking’ of the pilot. Jennifer Ehle is being replaced by the Irish actress Michelle Fairley. In his blog, James Hibberd writes his sources say the change was due to ‘behind-the-scenes’ considerations and not due to Ehle’s performance. This of course means that Catelyn scenes from the pilot will need to be reshot. It is likelly this is the bad news GRRM mentioned in his recent Not a Blog post. We will be able to see Fairley play Hermione Granger’s mother in the coming Harry Potter installments.
Daenarys - Tamzin Merchant Being Replaced?
In addition, Tamzin Merchant may be out of the "Game of Thrones" pilot as a casting side for the part of Daenarys has popped up on the ShowFax casting website.

If they are recasting Dany, who do you want to see fill the role? I've wanted to see Emily Browning fill the role of Dany for as long as I've known about the pilot. I think Natalie Dormer has the right look for the role too, but she's too old, since the actress would need to be 18-20ish, and look a little younger.
