I am so excited about our upcoming week, I can barely sit still!
We are going to be staying at the
Regal Sun Resort in Downtown Disney.
It looks really nice, and we booked it on Priceline for only $55 per night (normally beginning at $79).
But more importantly...
We decided awhile ago that we'd buy him a ton of little things for Christmas, and get the big presents for his birthday. So for Christmas he got a lot of art supplies (paint that only draws on the paper - we're not that crazy), cars, those little 3D viewfinder (he LOVES this one), and a bunch of other little things that we thought would interest him.
But last night I went birthday shopping online for him and we got the BIG present! SO big that it weighs 100 pounds and they charged me $73 for shipping. I ordered it from Kohls, because at Target and Toys R Us they wanted to charge $199 for shipping. And by now, I'm sure you know that I'm a bargain hunter. So trust me when I say that Kohl's had the best deal (I had a 10% off coupon, too).
I sat on the internet contemplating what to get him and going through a hundred different toys, playhouses, swingsets, etc. for about 2 hours. James was cleaning the house the entire time so he didn't have much input except for peeking in the room every few minutes, giving me a kiss, and saying, "I want that one!"
So it came down to two. James really wanted this neat little mini-playground that had an area for them to "mountain climb" up and then slide down the slide. He insisted he would have way more fun with this than what I wanted to get him. I wanted to get a little playhouse that had a picnic table attached. He's always hiding in closets and going in his room since it's his own space, so I figured this would be ideal for outside playtime.
The Step2 Neighborhood Funhouse! It's a FAIR compromise of both and I'm SO excited to see his face when he sees it. It's not going to be here for his birthday or for his party, which kind of sucks, but I didn't have the option of 2nd day air since it's so heavy. It'll be here by the 19th. We'll be at Disney on his birthday anyways, so it'll be okay.
We also bought him a table and chair to sit and paint at. Every time he's at my Moms' house he sits at Tyler's table to eat, play, color, etc. He loves it. We won't be able to fit it in the dining area, but we can put it either in his room or the spare room. He'll love it, too. That should be here while we're at Disney, so we had it shipped to James' parents' house.
We're not having a BIRTHDAY birthday party since we're going to Disney, but we are going to have people over and have a cake on the Saturday following his birthday (the 17th). I want to get him a Wall-E cake from Publix if they have one.
I just can't wait for my little boy to turn two, he's going to be so thrilled with everything. :DDDDDD Smiles all around.
