I really liked the way that the sentence Sam really believes his hallucinations illustrates how even though Sam *knows* Lucifer's not there, he can't turn off his awareness. And that is belief, in its own way. It's worse because it's a belief being inflicted by what amounts to an outside source, and has nothing to do with personal will or faith or anything.
No 100% guarantee, but you might get more. Now a different version of this prompt is running around inside my head. If I can pull my muse together and put together something coherent, I'll drop another comment and post in communities. :)
