FILLED: First Step, 1/2Normally this wouldn’t be a problem and Dean would let Sam take however long he needed, but they’re out of time and Dean doesn’t have the patience for being gentle

FILLED: First Step, 2/2The word echoes around the dank tunnel, harsh enough to cut the girl off mid-wail and leave her hiccupping in Sam’s arms. She has her hands looped in the collar of Sam’s t-shirt, and even if her eyes are as big as saucers she’s not pitching a fit about the shiny pink skin showing where Sam’s shirt has pulled away from his neck

I liked this - my heart broke for them both, Sam especially :P although I am confused by one thing... "And they don't see that Dean feels the same way..." does Dean think Sam has been branded by a demon too? That kind of confused me.
I think Dean always was a little afraid of what Sam could do, what he could turn into. I think Show makes it pretty obvious that Dean's foundation has been shaken when he learns about Sam's powers, and that every time Sam asks if he's afraid and he says no, it's obvious that there's something underneath his 'no' that means 'maybe.' In this context, yes, Dean does think Sam has been branded in a sense, so he feels guilty about it--he loves Sam so he feels guilty for it, but he's not going to disregard the fact that his brother's been marked by the supernatural (by the demon blood more so than the scarring).
