To make it worse, his teacher was boring, droning on and on for hours and then assigning far too many practice questions. Oh, this is just so gorgeously angsty! Heartbreaking to think of Sam going through all that and not saying a word, and John and Dean are so clueless about him. I love the end, with Sam disregarding Dean's advice about not getting attached. This feels like it could have been a turning point in Sam's life, leading to his decision to go to Stanford. Thank you sooooo much, lovely anon! <3
