"I'm not leaving you." I'm not crying. Okay, maybe a little. What an amazing fill! Jody stepping right in and being an amazing caregiver to Sam is everything. (You may also be feeding my headcanon about Sam's breakdown after S7, but that's a whole other thing.)

I need more scenes with Sam and Jody on the show pls. And I believe Sam totally did have a breakdown post s7 but nowhere near as extreme as this.

This is great! And the idea that Sam had a breakdown and was convinced by...someone...that Dean was dead and he had to leave it alone for his own sanity, is so very believable.

I love the interactions between Jody and Sam. And to set this the beginning of Season 8?? Absolute perfection. Srsly. *hearts*

I think it's a very possible route Sam could have gone down post season 7. He had just been in a mental hospital not much earlier and even if Cas took some of his Hell pain, Sam was still mentally unwell (in my mind, anyway) and something like Dean vanishing could be a major trigger for Sam.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sam and Jody have one of my fave relationships in the show and I need to see more of it!!

Thank you! The 'I'm not leaving you' was sort of a reference to Dean, I suppose. Kind of like the supportive role in Sam's life being passed on to Jody, does that make sense? Anyway, I'm glad you liked it :)

I loved every word of this!! I love seeing the interactions between Sam and Jody, especially her mothering instinct. And how prefect is it that set this up between the end of season 7 and the start of 8 - perfect, absolutely perfect!!!

So sombre and bittersweet and devastating - I love it! Thank you :)
