Ok, so I caved and bought MS Office 2010 (Home and Business version). Got it yesterday, get to spend today fooling around with installs and other geek-like things. Ya know.....as I sit here and look at the little box sitting on my desk, it occurs to me that something this expensive should at least come gilt-foil wrapped. Let's just hope it pans out

Congrats on the new laptop! I got one about two weeks ago, a Dell Inspiron in fact. Smaller and lighter than my Compaq, yay.

Argh. Now you've got me thinking about getting a new laptop. Believe it or not, mine is now over 4 years old too. Other priorities right now though. *grin*

ROFL! Well, let me add that now I'm especially happy about the new laptop, 'cause I can write this while I attempt to repair Outlook 2010 on my desktop. SIGH. Installed it, worked beautifully, now I can't get it to boot up without a 'sorry, this program stopped working and we'll let you know when a solution is available" message. Works fine on the laptop, and it's licensed for two machines, sooooooo.....aaaaaaaaagggh.

Best Buy and Newegg both have great zero-interest programs, but I'd caution waiting until your other priority committments are dealt with :-).
