I know a lot of the ladies here have, um... oh, mace, or pepper spray or something, that they carry around with them in case of muggers or... perverts or something like that. To get people that are harassing them away ( Read more... )

If are willing to go through the whole shitty paperwork, yeah. For a gun at least.

I don't think I'd feel right carrying something like that around, you know? But I guess I could, if I really needed to... because I'm eighteen, but still...

Um, thanks!

You asked, I answered. But if you are inquiring about it, then it means you either want to get something or just feel like pulling my leg.

Why would you want something like that anyway?

Pulling your leg wasn't... what I meant to do? I wasn't even asking about guns, I was asking if you needed a license for mace or pepper spray like you do for a gun. Not about... actual guns.

Just in case?

..Is everything okay? I don't think you need a permit for pepper spray. Self defense classes work really well as well. For the past few months I've been training, you can join me if you'd like!

Everything's fine! I was just wondering.

Really? That'd be really... yeah! I'd like that a lot! What have you been training? Hand-to-hand or weaponry?

Both actually. I take self defense lessons for hand-to-hand and then I take training for martial weapons, I want to land a job at the Medieval Times or a Ren Faire over the summer.

I've got what you need. You don't need a license.

Are you being harassed?

I'm not really sure if I need it, but I was just thinking about it so I thought I'd ask.

Not really? Not yet? She's not violent or anything, and I always leave before she tries anything because sometimes it looks like she's going to, and I... don't want that.

She's married, too... It's gross.

Let me know if you want any.

Is it possible to avoid her? Sometimes women refuse to get the hint.

Okay! Thank you, Horcus. [:

Yeah, I guess I'll have to. It's probably the best idea for right now.

You know I think men are creepier than women generally, but mace her. No one should be harassing anyone.

Men usually are creepier than women, and a lot of them are big and aren't afraid to use that to their advantage. Most of them go away when if you just say you're underage, even if you aren't.

I just feel a little weird. She's a mom. The idea of macing moms just feels wrong.

You're a sensible lad. That is very surprising.[deleted;] And not back home in Greece, it didn't matter then what age you were.

Is she making you uncomfortable? If so, macing is totally justified.

Really? I, um... guess. I'm used to dealing with men, but it's different to see women do the same thing in their own way. Haha, no, that didn't seem to matter in Greece at all... Especially considering the gods.

Well... yeah. But that can still be fixed by me just leaving or saying no. I'd really rather have it as a threat or something. I'd feel so bad about actually macing her.

It's astonishing the things you can look up on the internet.

The law stuff was helpful, thank you!

And I was really wondering about public thought and stuff. There are lot of strong women here that like to take care of themselves, you know.

For me, pepper spray is sooo impersonal. I mean the screaming is amusing, and the face does swell up something awful, but is it really a substitute for good old fashioned flaying? I mean, what says "Don't mess with me" better than stripping the skin off of someone as they try to run away?

Of course that is now against the "law". So if we talk in context of the modern time, which of course we are, I would likely use an Asp if I could get ahold of one. It's more physical. But that is just me.

I don't know. Being an obnoxious pervert isn't really a big enough crime for flaying, I think.

Jail is something I think I should really avoid. Those are the expandable batons, right? It would be harder to conceal, though.
