The man - the... apartment manager? right? - who brought me to this room told me things would be different... but things are really different. Everything is almost the same color, and I am not quite sure why someone would decide to make everything out of the same gray stone. It's ugly. I know it has been a while since I was last mortal, but is it ( Read more... )

This is not Sparta. It is New York City, and far after the time from which you come.

Welcome Ganymede. This is Athena.

Cronus has temporarily gained control of Olympus and sent most of us here on a whim. For the time being, it would be best for you to find a way to fit in - the AM should have given you some paperwork with false identification. You could find yourself a new job for the time being.

Athena! It's very good to hear from you, but... everyone really is okay, right? I mean, some of you have never been mortal and stuff.

........... he got out?

The... AM did give me lots papers, and a little card with an image of my face on it, but they have some other name on them. We're... disguising ourselves with the mortals? Okay... I guess.

We're managing just fine.

And yes. He did.

For the time being, the disguise is necessary to prevent us dealing with troublesome questions from the people of this time.

Yes, as Athena mentioned,we are far from Greece, both in distance and in time. The phrase you saw corresponds to certain movie I'm considering to buy, which is called "300". Quite an eye catching name.

I'm Styx, by the way.

This is not even Greece? I really don't see how this could all be possible, as Athena says it is... but... if we're here it must be. Oh? Is it about the Spartans at all?

Styx? Even if we're stuck here, I'm glad to be meeting you this way, at least. I'm Ganymede.

Oh, it has Spartans; about 300 of them, I guess.

Well kid, better here than in the Underworld, me being the river of the dead and everything.

I see. What's a movie?

... that's what I meant! No offense, Lady Styx. Um... how was all... that business?

Thrilled? Really? But thank you... um. Lady Thetis, right? Wow. Thanks a lot. It's kinda comforting that even you're here.

Well, because you're Thetis. If goddesses like you are here as well, it means that at least things won't be so bad, maybe.

How delightful to have you among us, Ganymede.

By the way, those are not my horses.

Zeus! It's... well. Uh, yeah. It's... good to be here? It's getting better, I suppose.

I had hoped not! They're pretty fantastic horses, but I don't think mortals are ready for them just yet.

Yes, better to have you here, with me than with Cronus.

I don't think so either, mortals still have such a long way to come, but alas, I am of the opinion that they will never catch up, despite their best efforts.

The city might seem unnerving, but try not to let the size frighten you.

Way better. I can't believe Cronus even got out like that.

With all their cars and things, and that long metal thing underground, they don't seem to need horses anymore. I think they're doing okay? For not being gods and all.

I'm not frightened! It's just really different!
