I have to admit it: I don't understand soccer.

It's not that I don't get the rules of the game; I understand (vaguely) what the objective is.

But there are a few things I don't get.

I don't get the 0-0 tie. A game without at least one point is, for an American sports fan, unacceptable. I don't know if there's ever been a 0-0 tie in an American sport.

I admit, I know nothing much about soccer, as far as the strategery or nuances of it, but I have come around to at least appreciating the game, because, in a lot of respects, what makes soccer so beloved is what makes college football so awesome
