So I took Japanese last semester. And now I'm taking French. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA. Screw the fact that I'm studying euro history, I WAS DOING MUCH BETTER IN JAPANESE THAN FRENCH ;___ ( Read more... )

Ah, the dorm days. How I miss them (or not :P )

If you want something to draw (and this is probably completely cliche but I really want to *see* it!!!), I would love a drawing/painting/whatever (I know nothing about art - sorry!) of Arthur and Merlin just being super fluffy together. Preferably something like them spooning with Arthur's body completely covering Merlin's in a protective gesture.

I dunno. I'm on a protective!Arthur quest right now.

Anyways, that's something I'd like to see. But you don't have to do it if you don't want to :)

Haha xD It's usually not too bad. My dorm is an old hotel, so the walls between the rooms are really thick, its when people are in the halls that it's bothersome.

I will give it a shot! I'm trying to work more on male figures, so that'll be a good exercise!

And protective!Arthur is always a good thing!

Maybe your uni offers a (free) tutoring service? I would have done much poorly in French if it wasn't for the tutors to help me practice and work through the monster that is prepositions in French. Aside from the standard one-on-one or group tutoring, going to the weekly French table lunches where everyone had to speak in French was very helpful. A good chunk of language isn't well-defined by rules, and you end up having to learn that practice.

Art prompt! Um...Gwaine/Merlin, dancing.
If you want more details, dancing in a club.
If you want even more details, something to Tonight by Enrique Iglesias ft. Ludacris, because "Here's the situation/Been to every nation/Nobody's ever made me feel the way you do/You know my motivation/Given my reputation/Please excuse me, I don't mean to be rude/But tonight, I'm loving you" reminds me of Merlin/Gwaine. O:)

I think they do, I'm gonna check it out with some other people in the class to see if it'll help some. I'm gonna look for some podcasts and stuff that might help me with pronunciation, which is most of my problem still.

Oooo, I haven't tried to draw Gwaine yet, so this'll be interesting xD We'll see what happens with this haha.

I think they'd be worth a shot. I never really got into podcasts, but I'm fond of the show "Karambolage" on Arte TV, if you get it. If not, you can also find episodes here. They go over cultural things, and I think it's fun. In the end, I found practice to be best for learning pronunciation and oral comprehension. It's important to be corrected though. One of my teachers once said that it's not practice that makes perfect, it's perfect practice that makes perfect, because practice alone just trains you to do something a certain way.

Yay!! :D
