I talked to Dad yesterday and he told me Scott was home from the hospital and glad of it. He was mostly sleeping, which makes sense, as everyone knows, even if you're not in pain they never let you get much sleep in the hospital

the neighbor should be arrested this weekend on charges of 'assault with a deadly weapon' and 'assault with intent to do bodily harm'

Not so 'pissant' charges...if his state is like mine, and most states parallel each other with respect to severity of crimes, the assault with a deadly weapon charge is a felony. NY doesn't have a separate law regarding assault with intent to do bodily harm; here, both charges would be lumped together as "assault in the first degree" if the DA thinks he can prove there was intent to do serious physical harm, or destroy an organ, or amputate a limb. If he can't get that, he'll go for "assault in the second degree", which only requires proving intent to cause serious injury and use of a dangerous or deadly instrument

I'm glad the guy's getting charged with something. Hopefully he'll do some jail time!
