Plus the cupcakes had better decorations than the cakes, with more variation, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Harry Potter, Mumble of "Happy Feet", and butterflies. The cupcakes were yummy!
After that it was time for my first panel of the weekend (!), "Minorities in SF & Fantasy", with Nnedi Okorafor, Alan Dean Foster, and Lee Darrow. I wanted to go to that one, but didn't get around to it. :-\

After it was over, I realized what needed to be done in order to advance the discussion: it needed to be said part way through, "Spec Fic as a body of texts has not had a very diverse range of characters, nor a diverse range of authors. However as an evolving body of texts the circumstances are changing both regarding characters and authorships" Now lets move on and say what ever else needs to be said.

You're right, we basically spent the last half of the panel agreeing with each other about what needed to be done. It is a vicious cycle but it's gradually being broken I think.
Carl's friend's Dad gave me one of his old soldering gun. I was thinking of making some sort of sensor device for fun. Hadn't thought of the project exactly. Carl suggested a temperature sensor for triggering a switch to turn his roof watering system on and off.

Thanks for the reminder about the art show chat; I need to put my thoughts into electrons before the lessons learned from Duck fade into the mist.
