* It's really frustrating that the US, one of the world's largest polluters, is not doing much about protecting the environment.
Entities within the United States do plenty to help the environment. Boise Cascade, for instance, is very active in maintaining millions of acres of forest, keeping them safe from fires and other ecological problems. An interesting question you should look into is to find out what percent of pollution in the United States occurs on government land and how much on privately owned land.
* Other nations such as Russia and the UK are taking steps to reduce CO2 emissions and many others are even further ahead of them:
So, two countries steadfastly in the hands of Reds are going to destroy their own industrial base and, along with it, the quality of life both in their country and worldwide.
* The Bush Administration rejected the Kyoto agreement because it will cause impact on their investment in oil. How selfish. They seriously don't know how much damage they're causing to the Earth's atmosphere by making

First, the sun is burning hotter than it has in the past 1000 years. This could explain a great deal of the temperature shifts in recent years.
'Dr Solanki said that the brighter Sun and higher levels of "greenhouse gases", such as carbon dioxide, BOTH contributed to the change in the Earth's temperature but it was impossible to say which had the greater impact.'

And what you said worries me, too. Speaking of global warming as being man-caused (or man-preventable) is one of those issues that I can't chalk up to a person being naive or ill-informed; it means a friend of mine has been deceived by those who would do her harm, and she should know what others are trying to get her into.
